Book Description

Count Von Flittermouse, a body-changing vampire bat, kidnaps Violet Mae Mouse in hopes of gaining a bottle of fluid from the Fountain of Youth.

Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Grade 3-5-- Minnabell Mouse inherits guardianship of an antique flask containing water from the true Fountain of Youth. The evil vampire bat, Count Von Flittermouse, needs the magic liquid to prolong his unnatural life and kidnaps Minnabell's young cousin to force a trade. Like Shadow over Mousehaven Manor (Scholastic, 1989), this is an affectionate rodent parody of the standard gothic novel, complete with secret passages, cloaked villains, and noble heroes. The mouse dialogue gets a bit precious at times, but there is plenty of suspense. --Elaine E. Knight, Lincoln Elementary Schools, IL
