Bell Trigger Youth Bike Helmet

I bought this helmet for my 3 year old. He likes it, it seems to fit well, seems to adjust fairly easily, received good reviews from Consumer Reports. The only thing I don't like about it is the chin straps seem to twist a little bit between the ears and chin. My son hasn't complained about this being uncomfortable, but it looks like it might possibly be. I can't see any way to straighten them out all the way from ears to chin, it's just the way they are attached to the helmet. Generally though, I am very happy with it.
Oh, another thing, in the photo, the helmet looks almost red, white, and blue. It's really dark gray and black. I think the photo doesn't show this actual helmet but the design (style and stars) are the same.

My son is 7 and it was time to replace his helmet with something a bit larger. Of course, it wouldn't hurt if the new helmet looked great too! As always, I researched quite a bit before deciding on the Bell Trigger and then on the green and black scorpion flames model.

My son really loves the colors and the helmet adjusts to fit very well. So, the product has good reviews for it's protection (the most important feature of all), it fits perfectly, it looks awesome, and it's fairly priced. I don't think there's much else to say other than that I would recommend it highly for kids who have outgrown a toddler helmet but aren't ready for an adult helmet yet.

This was the second helmet we tried after we discovered that the Giro Me2 Infant Bike Helmet was too small (according to the Giro specs, it should have fit, but the shape of the helmet did not match the shape of my son's head so it just didn't work). But this one fit my 2yo (in the 99th percentile so he's BIG!) perfectly. And it was fairly easy to adjust--the worst part being the sections around the ears (which as another reviewer stated, you just can't seem to get them to lay perfectly flat). But it didn't seem to bother my son at all, so YMMV on that one. We haven't actually gotten to officially try it out yet since my son isn't taking to his bike as quickly as we hoped...but hopefully I'll never have to write an update on how great the helmet was after a crash!

These helmets are great for my 6-year-old twins. They look like professional helmets, and fit much more exactingly than any of the bike helmets I've seen sold in big box retailers. I expect we'll get many years out of these helmets before they need to get a bigger size.

Bought these helmets for our 4 year old twins and they fit very well. They have very small heads that are hard to fit. It is nice to find a helmet with such great safety ratings that fit. Make sure you know how to properly measure and fit a helmet before purchasing any helmet!

This helmet is great, even for adults! I bought it, after trying it on at a local sports store, and it actually fits better than the adults sizes, which tend to look a little too large for my small face (22 year old female). It looks great (I bought the gray/black stars) and when I got home, my husband at first made fun of me for buying a youth helmet, but after trying it on, he decided that he liked it better than his current helmet and went out today to buy his own! Great little helmet, if you feel like adults are a pinch too big.

I'm completely pleased with this helmet. It's well thought out and designed. There's good ventilation. The clips and particularly the sizing element, that's a little wheel that you can turn with one hand, are very well designed. I was able to quickly and easily size this to my 3 year old's head, which is no easy task. It seems to fit snugly and securely, all without him complaining about it hurting his head even though he has worn it for upwards an hour at a time.

I selected this off a consumer reports review. It is an added bonus that the style is girly enough for my 5 year old, but not so babyish that she should still like it when she is eight. My husband thougt it was too big, although the specs say it is appropriate for the size of her head. (It also serendipitiously matches her new bike, the Huffy Sea Star, $50 from Walmart!)

We had an infant helmet and noticed it was getting a bit snug for our 3 year old son. So, we compared all of the kids helmets sizes and decided that this was the next size for him. It does fit very well, though it has a bit of excess strap that we will be loosening up as he grows over the next several years. Cute style -- he likes the flames and it gives him a bit of visibility. Very happy with this purchase.

Before buying this product, I did some research on the safest helmets for kids. This won for best fit and safety. My boy ordered the blue/black colors and it looks really sharp! It fits his head perfectly, and with the minor adjustments on the back for tightening, it doesn't move around on his head like others have. I should note that my son has a larger-than-normal head size. It doesn't fit his other 6-year-old friends, but it fits ME. If you're concerned, you should measure the head size first to ensure it will fit. Really, for the price, look and quality, this is a great helmet! I would highly recommend.
