The last review seemed to be a review of the quality of the shipping company rather than the quality of this product ... so here's my take:
Nice cabinet made out of pressboard. Includes everything you need to put it together. Uses clasps to hold the pieces together with dowels. I'm not too impressed with the dowels as they seemed too thin for the holes drilled. Also the clasps didn't seem to hold too tightly. This is probably to make the installation easier, but I would have preferred a tighter fit. The cabinet is black, but fairly sheeny so it would match with Espresso Brown furniture. Comes with a black marker in case you get some scratches. A very simple cabinet with glass shelves. Works perfect in my location. I'm not sure it's such a great value at $269, but it worked for me. Mine came overnight via Fedex and arrived in perfect condition. I have no idea what kind of deal Amazon has with Fedex, but this thing weighs 101 lbs. That would cost the lay-person over $500 to my location! Amazon Prime = $3.99. Crazy deal. I would suggest taking your time putting the cabinet together and using glue on the dowels and between the pressboard pieces. I think this makes for a tighter/better installation.

Two Orders Arrived Damaged,

This may be a fine tv stand once assembled; unfortunately, I never got that far despite 2 attempts. The first order arrived with the bottom part of the front panel completely broken off; returned it and ordered a replacement. In the second item, the pins had broken off and fallen out of 3 of the 8 hinges on the product; thought I could find a makeshift replacement for the pins, but then noticed one of the hinges had been tampered with and no longer mated with its corresponding piece on the adjoining panel. Returned it and ordered a similar (though not identical) item from Costco, which arrived in good shape.

This might be a great cabinet when I receive the replacement from Amazon but I can attest to the fact that Bell'O's packaging for it is seriously lacking as mine arrived cracked. I just opened mine this evening after coming home to find it delivered from UPS with one side of the packaging already beginning to come open and leaning up against my garage door. The packaging is that of Bell'O's only, without any extra packaging from Amazon. (It's not a manufacturer's box inside an Amazon box.)
There are layers of Styrofoam, plastic sheaths & cardboard within the overall box. It looks like the Styrofoam is not thick enough in some crucial areas as the inner lip of the furniture's front panel was nearly sheared off on the unit while in the box. I think there are two issues with the delivery - 1.) The package's protection is not enough and 2.) it says very clearly on the box that TWO people should be used for moving it. (It seems to weigh over 100 lbs.) I wasn't home when it arrived but I seriously doubt UPS had two guys on the truck when they delivered it to my house. I gather from at least one other user's comments that the packaging is a large part of this item's shortcoming. Either Bell'O or Amazon needs to beef up the packaging and/or Amazon needs to use a delivery company for pieces this large that will send two people to get it to your front door. It will probably make it more expensive but at least it will have a better chance of arriving intact. Amazon is sending me an expedited replacement and they even scheduled the UPS return pick-up of the damaged item so I salute Amazon for making the return process fast and easy. (The only way it could have been easier if someone from Amazon could have arranged for the re-boxing of it, but I'm realistic.) Hopefully the replacement will arrive undamaged but I'm not willing to lay the responsibility of the damage solely at UPS' feet as I think Bell'O needs better packaging. My UPS guy has never broken anything in the 5 years where I'm currently living but this thing is heavy and large so I can see how a drop might have occurred at some point even before it was delivered. I couldn't assemble the unit with it being cracked but the few panels that I did remove from the box looked to be of very good construction and seemed sturdy. With this is mind I'm currently giving the product 2 stars based primarily upon its packaging. Maybe Amazon shares some blame too by not adding another layer of protection around the box but they are providing good customer service as they are sending me a next-day replacement at no cost to me. Ultimately though, buyers beware as the inadequate protection and the weight of the unit makes it apparently highly susceptible to damage during delivery.
