After you've seen all the other mafia movies with all the men running the show, and women just being their trademark "jewelry", check out these five women who avenge their loved one's deaths. Proving that love and vengence is just as strong for women as it is men, "Bella Mafia" sheds the weak female characters of the mob with strong, stubborn, and purposeful women. The settings, costuming, and performances from the men also make this a movie event not to be missed. Being a man, myself, it is great to see women who can control their destiny. Venessa Redgrave and Jennifer Tilly give performances to "die" for!

I originally saw this movie when it was first introduced as a TV mini series and loved it. I was extremely disappointed when I watched this video and saw how much had been deleted, or rather, I should say, "butchered"! As a direct result of the editing, the storyline lurches instead of flows from scene to scene. The plot makes very little sense and is extremely difficult to follow. I cannot, in good heart, recommend this version to anyone, which is sad since the original mini series was very well done. Boo-hiss to the buther!

This movie was one of the greatest mafia movies ever, especially from the female view. Bella Mafia is right up there with The Godfather and The Last Don. I hope that there will be a sequel where they continue to get even with the rest of the mob. I have seen this movie at least 40+ times and I continue to watch is over and over as I own a copy on VHS. I hope that Bella Mafia will come out on DVD soon.

What a great movie! The story kept me in suspence right throughout. Fantastic acting, very different than the average mafia movies I have seen. Deffenently there is something to learn about. I would recommend this movie to be on DVD for future generations as part of there libary. I highly highly recommend to see this at least once.

I absolutely love the movie "Bella Mafia"! Being a huge fan of mafia and gangster movies, it was extremely refreshing to watch one that was centered around the women in a powerful family rather than just the men. Don't get me wrong, the men do play a powerful role in the film, but it is the strength and intelligence of the women that brings the family justice and respect.

I don't want to give away any of the story, but anyone who loves mafia films would love this! I HIGHLY recommend this film!

James Marsden's talent was at its best in this movie. The scenes in which he mourned his deceased handicapped friend and he seduced Graziella Luciano were particularly captivating. Nobody could have played the role better. Luka (played by James) was possessed by the devil. He killed people left and right and even killed babies, but we could not help sympathizing with him. His being killed by his own mother was brutal and unfair. The fact that he became such a devilished young man was not his fault. He was abandonned by his mother and horribly abused in many foster homes. I hope the movie would delve more on how he became such a devilished person, thus giving James more screen play. I hope they would make a dvd out of this great movie.
James Marsden's breathtaking good looks and extraordinary talent make him the very best. Look forward to his new movies Interstate 60, X2, The 24th Day, and The Preacher in theaters in Fall 2002 and sometimes in 2003

A unique new idea in the Mafia crime-movie. Four women, stripped of their manfolk start a vendetta of their own. The female in the crimestory seems finally to have come of age. Good acting by al the leads, especially Kinski, Redgrave and Tilly and an original story premise more then make up for some weak area's ( A series of rather unlikely coincidences making a twist in the family relations possible, and a villain who switches a little too easily from a halfwit-psycho to a charming young man and the other way round.) A must for all the fans of Godfather.

IS SUCH A GOOD MOVIE!!! IT HAS IT ALL...DRAMA, RESPECT, LOVE, HATE AND SADNESS! I COULD WATCH THIS MOVIE OVER AND OVER AND NEVER GET TIRED OF IT. SUCH GOOD ACTING...I LOVE THE ITALIAN ACCENTS AND LANGUAGE. IF YOU'VE NOT YET SEEN THIS MOVIE, I REALLY RECOMMEND IT AND KNOW YOU'LL LOVE IT TOO!!! BELLA MAFIA...LOVE IT!!!
