I usually read reviews on Amazon before I buy something, but I found this in Kohls for $16 with some discount coupons, and decided to try it. A red flag jumped up when there were no instructions in the box, so I went online looking for a manual. I never did locate the instructions but ended up reading Amazon reviews. Ugh - almost decided to return it without taking if out of the box after all those scathing reviews, but figured I would try it one time and if it didn't work I could still return it. I was surprised to find that it did indeed make decent waffles! I am still experimenting with the dial to find the perfect setting, but we are enjoying our Saturday morning waffles. Not such a bad waffle iron for what I paid! If it gives up (could be soon?) I will probably replace it with a higher quality item.

PS: Lasted about 2 months, using it only on the weekends. Then the handle broke and it ended up in the landfill.

Using it everyday! You have to preheat the maker and put oil in it before pouring In the batter. I usually adjust it to the highest tempeture and leave it for 2 more mins after the green light is on! The waffle comes out perfectly every time. For the cleaning part, I just use a wet towel to wipe the pans. I'd recommend people read through the instruction before using it.

I have this waffle maker and it does what it is suppose to. I don't understand the poor review because it works great for our family. We have perfect waffles every Sunday. We have had our waffle maker for more than a year and it is still going strong.

I had another brand of iron which i loved --- was planning on replacing it this week (burnt out fuse) friends of mine had the Bella KItchen waffle maker and offered it to me after i told them mine broke down.

Made 4 waffles this morning. I left them in the iron for 5 minutes because i like them crisp. This iron is not as deep or maybe not as large as my original iron but it did a good job and after some practice i am sure i'll have perfect waffles every time

The good: it does make waffles as described.

The bad: feels very cheap. Very hard to clean. Will not stay open on its own while trying to pour mix into it or clean it leaving you trying to do everything one handed while you keep the hot surface from slamming down on your hand.

Received it as a gift and I could immediately tell that it was cheap quality. It didn't even fully cook 1 waffle before it inexplicably died. Also, the base recipe included in the instruction book was completely wrong. The batter looked like cookie dough--I had to add another 2 cups of milk before it became pourable batter. Now I have a bowl full of batter and a brand new, broken waffle maker. Why do they even bother manufacturing such junk!?

I picked this waffle maker up at a flea market. It looked like a promising waffle maker. It was making some good waffles at first, but after using it 5 times, the waffle maker wouldn't cook as well as it used to be. I turned the temperature to the hottest setting on the waffle maker, and after the light turned out indicating that the waffle is ready, I'd have to wait for another 7 minutes for the waffle to be editable.

This is a poor excuse for a waffle maker. Please invest in a better waffle maker.

You get what you pay for. It does make decent waffles but it is a royal pain to clean. The inserts should be removable for cleaning. While you are trying to wipe it down the iron is trying to rotate in the cradle all the time. My guess there are better out there for not much more money.

Our waffles come out perfect every time... but after owning it for 6 months a small plastic piece on the back broke during a routine rotation. We've continued to use it for the past 4 months, and the waffles are still great... but it's coming apart and now the wires are exposed- now we're looking for a new one as this is a serious safety hazard. What can you expect from a Kohls Black Friday sale?

The waffle maker is a very poor quality product. I would suggest looking for another item. The handle started to flake and crack the FIRST TIME I touched it.
