A Remarkable Group of Young People, August 24, 2003
This review is from: Belle Louisiane (Audio CD)
This is an absolutely wonderful CD. This is a must for anyone interested in Cajun music. If you have never listened to Cajun music, give this CD a try and you may very well be addicted.
The vocals are mature and harmonic; the instruments are played with authority and exquisite artistry. La Bande Foufollet covers in this CD the whole range of Cajun music from the heart swelling Fier d'etre Cadien (Proud to be a Cajun), to the lovely Belle Louisiane, to the salute to the great Dennis McGee in McGee's Medley, to the haunting Cauchemar de 1755, to thefoot-stopping Petite Ou La Grosse, etc.
At the National Folk Festival in Bangor, Maine, in August 2003, La Bande Feufollet was the only musical group to get a standing ovation. Merci et Bonne Chance.
