The film brought rapturous responses at Cannes Film Festival in 2003, & the soundtrack to this nearly dialogue-free film is at the very heart of its success. The score was composed by acclaimed Canadian jazz guitarist Ben Charest & the theme tune is performed in French & English by the French artist - M (aka Matthieu Chedid) with Thomas Dutronc - the son of Francois Hardy & Jacques Dutronc - on guitar. 19 tracks. The film is simply amazing and so is the soundtrack. A very well cocked mix between French/Belgium music and traditional blues. The kind of record that your friends keep asking "what is this" and "Where did you find-it".

i simply dont understand why quality music always end up unheard by the masses. this is a beautiful, well crafted soundtrack from an amazing animated movie (Les Triplettes de Belleville), it got excellent reviews worldwide, even from american critics who usually praise hollywood blockbusters.

Well, the soundtrack is as excellent as the movie. This is the kind of music you spin when you throw a party, having some good red wine.

So Make youself a favor and buy this record, it is well worth every buck you spend on it!!

It's a shame more people don't know about this soundtrack. The movie was stunning, and the music is perfect.
