5.0 out of 5 stars A fine performance of a neglected opera
Although you hardly have any choice but to buy this particular recording of Bellini's neglected opera, it is safe to say that this is a more than satisfying attempt done by a talented ensemble.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good soprano!
Great soprano, but not the same for the tenor. If you want to hear a good "A tanto Duol" buy the "Music Teacher" soundtrack.
Instead, the "Sorgi oh padre" area and the final of the opera are wonderful song by the soprano Shin (in this complete opera).

5.0 out of 5 stars A fine performance of a neglected opera, July 2, 2004
This review is from: Bellini - Bianca & Fernando / Shin · Kunde · Tomicich · Fu · Caforio · Nigoghossian · W. Coppola · Manhart · Licata (Audio CD)
Although you hardly have any choice but to buy this particular recording of Bellini's neglected opera, it is safe to say that this is a more than satisfying attempt done by a talented ensemble.

Soprano Young Ok Shin has a beautiful voice, exciting in the fluoride coloratura passages that makes every single appearance of her a sheer delight. She is well supported by a strong cast, especially tenor Gregory Kunde who more than manages the high tessitura.

For all those out there who love extremely high tenor singing, will be pleased to know that Gregory Kunde interpolates a high f (!) in full voice in his first aria.

Sound is good, although not spectacular - it's a live performance. Highly recommended.
