felt their love,
By RomReader (TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Bellini Bride (Hardcover)
Wealthy Italian-businessman's mistress of 1 yr is infamous for being the woman in nude paintings of new artist. She believes that her r/s with Hero is at an end. It's no secret that Hero thinks she's not appropriate wife material for him b/c of his elite family & her scandalous reputation. But its a struggle for both of them b/c of the passion they feel for each other & heroine has been honest about her love for him. Their r/s is tested when her artist friend comes back in town & Hero's mother increases the pressure for him to marry someone more suitable.
Loved this Reid book & I'm not a fan of some of her books. Reid wrote this book so well. Most of the emotions & tension between Hero & heroine was shown nonverbally. I could feel the angst, the love, & the frustration they were feeling. Both characters were portrayed well too. Both Hero & heroine were emotionally strong yet vulnerable at the same time. They didn't engage in soap-opera-type dramatic behaviors during their conflicts or with their secrets. They discussed their issues & assumptions & didn't play blame games. Their chemistry was sizzling & added to the intensity of their r/s. Although H & h came from different social backgrounds, they were equal partners in their r/s. Enthusiastically recommended.

excellent romantic story,

I have always enjoyed Michelle Reid's books, but this story has made me a fan for life. I was hooked from the first page until the very last page. You will love this type of story if you enjoy strong and masterful male characters. The female counterpart is very feminine and vulnerable because of her love for this man. One of the reasons I enjoyed this story so much is that the couple had already established an relationship. The reader has the pleasure of discovering how the relationship is progressing. From the very begining the reader knows that the couple is very strongly attracted to each other and the chemisty practical sizzles. I love the way the male character does all he can to keep this lady in his life. The conflict is wonderful and different. Please readers don't miss the opportunity to read this book. I was spellbounded.

Fantastic!,

This book along with "Arabian love child" made me a fan of Michelle Reid that i buy whatever book of hers that I can lay my hands on. I am not going to repeat the story because another reviewer has already given it. While it is true that the plot line is similar to 'the mistress bride' (just like for 'gold ring of betrayal' and 'arabian love child')yet the way the book is written, the scenes and the characters make it a different and an equally good read. If you enjoyed reading 'the mistress bride' do read this one too, u will enjoy it equally and will not feel like you are reading a copy cat.

If you read The Mistress Bride you've read this book,

When I first bought this book I was excited to read it but when I got home and read the back I thought it was the reissue of "The Mistress Bride." I even went on this site to see if it was a reissue and I read the copy right inside of the book. It isn't a reissue but it is almost like reading the same book. For those's who haven't read the Mistress Bride let me describe the book for you.Marco Bellini is part of one of the richest families while Antonia Carter is just beautiful and his mistress. Marco's father is ill and want's him very much to be married and produce a heir. Marco must choose a bride, one that isn't his mistress. But Antonia is the only woman he wants in his life. This story had some good stuff in it but you can't help compare it to "The Mistress Bride" and that book was better. That is the only reason why I gave this book three stars. I do have to say that this book had a beautiful ending that makes me want to re-read it for that reason.

The secret of this and other Reid books, I find, is in the subtleties and the knowledge of each other......
I found the joy between the two and latent fear of parting just great. The handling of the satellite characterss is done wee, too. No one was Super Sheik or Wonder Girl - just people, although of a favored economical and social class, with people's mistakes. Good for 6 or 7 reads, and then, more. Thank you Ms. Reid.
