I bought this to record the calls of a particular person. It has worked great so far. It uses regular cassette tapes. If you press the record/play keys it will record everytime the receiver is turned on or you can press record for each call you want to record. The playback is good.

An excellent tool for telephone recording. The voice comes out clear and distint. Obviously you have the inconvenience of having to deal with a cassette but it definitely serves the purpose without having the expense of a digital unit. It's well worth the price.

Machine does start and stop when phone is off/on the hook. Hookup and operation is simple and straight forward. Playback speed is slower then recording speed therefore the voice is distorted. This is a two speed machine but the slow speed is not half speed as you would expect. I estimate that the slow speed is about 2/3 the speed of normal speed. This make it difficult to playback on a different machine unless the playback machine has a varible speed adjustment. The Manual states that the highest capacity tape that can be used is 90 minute and on slow speed that is about 1 hour per side.

Good price. Could not get rid of loud shrill noise.

This item doesn't work as it is supposed to.There is a LOT of noise and the only person recorded was myself.What a rip-off!!!! Seller won't answer my email.

Defective out of the box. Never even got a chance to use it. Poor construction. Don't waste your time.

So far, this product has performed beautifully! For the price, you can't beat it! I use it for my business phone calls and saved me much time from taking notes.

This telephone recorder works OK ...but will need a lot of cassettes if you wants to record all messages. Also at low speed 90 min tapes ran slow and did not sound right. 60 min work fine. Record every instance the call is received. For the price it is acceptable product in today's high tech world. If I can afford a digital VOX recorder I will go for it next time.

As a reporter for a semi-weekly newspaper, I use the recorder for phone interviews. It works well, replacing one I has worn out over the years. According to law, I tell the party on the other end of the line that I'm recording, and this method not only makes the interview easier for me, it makes it go much faster for the interviewee than if I had to try and write down responses. Most of all, however, it makes for error-free articles, plus if a person interviewed questions my reporting, I have a taped record of exactly what that person said. Good recorder, works well, exception bargain, having cost only about half of what other phone recorders sell for, and works equally well.

The recording quality of the incoming call was very poor. Could not hear clearly - if I turned up the volume, feedback occurred. Returned it immediately.
