I did tons of research on belly binders before settling on the bandit (ultimately the deciding factor was value/economy as the other I was considering was the Cinch by Anew). The belly bandit has a good strong velcro which offers great support in the first few uses, but after a few wears it became softer and structure and creased with my post pregnancy "rolls" :) It also didn't cover the full abdomen as I thought it would (I'd read it went from under the breastline to under the belly button). I'm 5'3" - and petite in frame/weight. In fact, if I pulled it down low where I really needed the support (low belly and around the upper part of the hip) it was low enough around the upper part to create "back fat." I would recommend this product if you are not looking to wear form fitting clothes at all in your recovery period - loose shirts hide "back fat." Maybe opt for more coverage if you think you'll need it.
