4.0 out of 5 stars I miss Johnny May 31, 2012
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a nice mess of Replacements era progressions. Not sure it's as good as their previous effort. There's a fine line between garage rockin tempos and sloppy redundant punk influenced 3 minutes Bursts. They need to grow past the need for rough edges and just concentrate on the song.

Let me start by giving my impression of the 3 most recent Cribs albums

I started with Men's Need, Women's Needs, Whatever (a great album title to go along with a great Album). I found the band through myspace somehow and the song "Men's Needs" which in my opinion is still their best song. But there were other good songs on the album and as a whole it was really good. At that time MNWNW was the band's most recent album, so I went back and got the New Fellas; pretty good, a little rougher, and nothing on the level of Men's Needs or Our Bovine Republic, but enough to keep me excited for their next release. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with Ignore the Ignorant. I listened to the whole album through 10 or more times before I finally gave up. I kept a couple of the songs, but overall it was a letdown.

With the bad taste of Ignore the Ignorant in my mouth I wasn't nearly as excited for their next effort, but I had heard that the one guitar player guy from ITI had left the band and this raised my hopes. Plus I was willing to give them another try based on the strength of MNWNW and NF. So I've taken the plunge..... and been disappointed again. I just can't get over how much the music sounds like noise. I'm listening to the album waiting, hoping, for some of the clean, catchy and repetitous guitar from MNWNW, but it just isn't there. I turned off In the Belly and switched to MNWNW and its like night and day. It's too bad that the band has strayed from that sound, becuase thats what got me hooked on them in the first place. At this point I don't think I will be buying any more albums and I'm kicking myself a bit for wasting the 9 bucks on this one. So in short, if you are hoping or expecting something that sounds at least similar to MNWNW, don't go for this. So long Cribs....

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this album. March 25, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I've listened to the cribs for a couple years now, I really enjoy their music and think they're creative with their videos. I really loved this album because the lyrics are all related to what i feel most of the time. It has a new sound from previous albums but i think they did a great job, especially the song called Chi-town i could really hear the difference. In my opinion they represent and aim to young professionals who have careers and are reserved people. I guess what i'm trying to say is that people who have class enjoy this type of music or at least depending if they're into the indie scene. I must admit that there is no other album that i love listening to besides this one. I really hope they come to LA one day, I'd really like to meet the Jarman brothers and get their autographs in this album. The Cribs you guys are the best!
