Every selection is a performer's dream: All are Bellydance favorites, tempos are danceable; big finales are the rule, key and style are compatible from one song to the next; and lengths are manageable. The musicianship is first-rate throughout and the arrangements are exciting and fresh. We call this album a "Slice and Splice" production since that's exactly how we hope you will use it. We give you the ingredients, you create your own routines. Decide how long a show you need and what kind of songs you want in it. Then program your picks in your order and play or tape them. Your show will sound as if it had been professionally recorded just for you. You'll be inspired and your audience will be delighted. I designed and produced this CD because I needed it and it didn't exist. Now that I have it I use it all the time. Too much of the great old music was poorly recorded and the best of it was available only on LPs. By the time I was finished taping from LPs (assuming that what I wanted was in the public domain) the sound quality was so bad no one could really enjoy hearing my set. And pulling bits off of several different records and tapes just made a disjointed auditory jumble. Audiences really do appreciate having high-quality sound that they can really get into. I admit to being old fashioned. in some of my musical taste: I love the old songs. I wanted to combine the storied ambience of the "great days of NYC's Eighth Avenue" with today's technology. This is a great cd for bellydancers to splice together songs to create a routine. Most of the songs are short. This is well produced and the band is very good nice vocals.

I had hard time finding this CD! They didn't have this in Amazon.jp (Japan) , that's why I purchased here in U.S. site.

As a collection of small, short musics of 2 - 3 minutes, this CD is excellent to make a small oriental bellydance set from the entrance, taqsim ( chifte telli ) , veil, floorwork, drum solo, and the ending. Very useful. If you are a bellydancer, you'll love this. My teacher in Tokyo highly recommended this and I know why. Great CD!
