Excellent and practical. You plug in your iPod or MP3 player which makes it very easy to do and very flexible to choose the music you want. You can plug in some headphones and listen or not, its your call. If you crank up all the volume on your iPod then you can listen a little with the speakers alone (with no headphones) but they aren't loud enough to really be listening without any headphones. Great product.
