This is the best light for an orchestra stand that I have found. I have been through my share of LED lights that projects light on sections instead of the whole reading platform. I am extremely pleased with product. My only suggestion is that you set a permanent position for the light on your stand and then tighten the screws with a wrench and screwdriver to hold it properly in place.

Best thing about this light is that it is adjustable! Worst thing is that it seems to drift downward a bit. I've tightened the screw but it is still drifting. (I think a bit of cork will fix it. It needs a tubular lamp, but you can get that at Home Depot. It throws nice light on your stand and did I mention that it is adjustable! Very nice for the price.

Gave it a three only due to the fact that it didn't come with a bulb. I have never in my life purchased a light that didn't light up out of the package. The quality of the fixture is great. I bet it will work well and shed light on my entire conductor stand.

This is an absolutely horrible product. At first glance, it seems extremely durable, and the clamp is very strong. However, upon placing it on the stand, it droops down and covers up the music. When I tightened the two nuts on each of the screws, it seemed to be fine, but it began to droop again the next day. I also noticed that it had scratched my brand-new music stand, as only one side of the clamp has a rubber pad. In addition, it does not sit properly ont he stand when the metal arm is tilted at an angle less than 90 degrees. Finally, the cord, rather than coming out of a hole in the metal shade, simply drops down from inside the shade, which makes it hard to adjust.

I am very disappointed by this lamp, and I will be sending it back. I am appalled that it received a 5-star review, and that it is so expensive.

I have two of these lights on a stand with a wide table. They work find. The screws and bolts were loose when they came and it may be preferable to ship that way. Nothing was stressed. Things tighten easily. I found the glare from the chrome bracket easy to block with a black felt insert. The bulb that seems to work best for me is 25 watts - times two lamps. They get warm but not hot. They are stable and just work when I ask them to - no fuss - no bother. It's nice to be able to see the music for a change.

i had 2 tape a piece of black electrical tape over the 'silver'! DUH! clip-on section facing me because glare was a real problem - i agree with the other reviews: the design should be tighter so the light doesn't slip down! i'm thinking of retrofitting mine with a fly-nut figuring it'll make it easier 2 tighten - othawise, 4 the price i love it ;)

I paid extra for this music stand light. The first time I used it on the job the light kept coming down & half way through the gig, it fell off the Stand. Meanwhile
the cheaper manhassetts had no problem.

I have tried many different lighting schemes for music stands. This is this one has worked great. Bulb (sold separately) has last many months of heavy use. A separate bulb has the advantage of being replaceable (unlike the LEDs in Mighty-Brite products). I had a Mighty-brite (double LED) which had one light burn out within a few weeks, and the other lasted less than 8 months. The Belmonte Universal Stand Light also puts out significantly more light than the LED type lights. The positional adjustment works well if it is not constantly bumped. I would definitely recommend this light.
