Changed My Marriage!,
By Amy (Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Beloved Unbeliever: Loving Your Husband into the Faith (Paperback)
I came on-line to search for this book because I fell in love with it 7 years ago and wanted to get it for a friend. How thrilled I am to be able to right a review about a book that has meant so much to me. This is one of the BEST books I have EVER read--and I don't say that lightly! It totally changed my outlook on my marriage and helps me stay focused on what God has promised and on what I can be doing to improve my marriage. And because this book has been such a help to me, my husband has also benefitted. It's written for the woman who believes in God, but whose husband does not---and offers PRACTICAL, BIBLICAL help in handling the difficulties that accompany such a marriage: how to raise children, communication breakdowns, divorce, arguments, friendships, and much, much more! It is also a FANTASTIC book for group study--exercises are included in the book. It is an especially good resource if you're not very familiar with the bible. Jo Berry does a GREAT job directing you to applicable scripture and it's not overwhelming or confusing. And because my marriage continues to change, the type of help I need continues to change. I've referred to the book many times over the past 7 years. It will be WORTH EVERY PENNY!

The right perspective,
By A Customer
This review is from: Beloved Unbeliever: Loving Your Husband into the Faith (Paperback)
Ms. Berry has written a no-nonsense book about what a christian wife is regardless of whether she is married to a christian or not.I appreciate her honesty in writing about women who's husbands came to God, and those who did not. She does not provide a "plan" to help your husband build a relationship with God; but rather, she shows a wife how to maintain her relationship with God and her husband in virtual harmony. I bought 7 copies of this book and gave them to women who are married to non-believers (as I am), their relationship with God and their husbands has been transformed. The key thing is to apply the principals, which are biblical, and God will bless the effort.

An honest look at the unequally yoked marriage,
This review is from: Beloved Unbeliever: Loving Your Husband into the Faith (Paperback)
I wish that I had read this book before I married and before I tried to manipulate my husband to attend church, pray with me, etc. There is one small part of this book that I disagree with, however. On pages 40 and 41, Ms. Berry states that, "...it is impossible to communicate spirtual truth to an unspiritual person," and reminds the saved spouse that nothing she can say will save her husband. I agree but my husband wants to know what I believe and why. We do talk about spiritual matters because he (sweetly) says, "they are important to you." There is a time to be silent but I think that there also times to discuss Christian issues that are currently relevant in our daily lives.

Wonderful biblically-based counsel for women,
By Silvia (Plano, Tx) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Beloved Unbeliever: Loving Your Husband into the Faith (Paperback)
What a wonderful relief it was to find this book! It's an easy-to-read, easy-to-understand guide about a relationship that can be so challenging & so emotional. I strongly recommend this to any woman who finds herself unequally yolked. The best part is that the entire book is based on God's word and knowing He has a plan for those of us in this situation.

Not Just For The Unequally Yoked!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Beloved Unbeliever: Loving Your Husband into the Faith (Paperback)
This is such a wonderful book. While the main focus is directed to Christian women married to unbelieving men, all women can learn something from it - married or single. I myself am not married, but I couldn't put the book down once I started reading. There are excerpts from interviews with people so you get a taste of "real life" situations, there are many Biblical referneces, and there are workshops at the end of each chapter. If you're a wife or ever plan on becoming one, this is a book of guidelines on what you are to be to your husband. I'm already reading it a second time. I'd definitely recommend it.

Hard Work -- But worth it!,
By "marylandangel" (Washington, DC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Beloved Unbeliever: Loving Your Husband into the Faith (Paperback)
This book is honest and upfront. One of the best books that I ever read on marriage! There are "workshops" at the end of each chapter for you to get what you just read straight from the Bible! This book will help your marriage, but more importantly make you grow in walk with Christ! I highly recommend this book to women who feel hopeless, lonely and frustrated!

Something every sister needs,
By Dlite (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Beloved Unbeliever (Paperback)
I first read this book shortly after it was published and have been blessed to see lives and marriages changed for the glory of God. You can read all the other great reviews about what this book is about, instead I offer you an idea that will change lives ... We all have sisters, some biological and many spiritual sisters. This book should be on every Christian woman's bookshelf. I keep several on my shelf to share with others. All women need this book because all women know of at least one other woman who needs this book (even if they are not married to an unbeliever), because we all have a sister or friend that finds herself in such a situation. Women if you care about your sister/s share this book. It will encourage her faith and your friendship. It will give your sister grace for today and hope for the future. Just ask her to read it and then ask her to "pay it forward" to another sister who needs to have her hope renewed.
