This review is from: Beloved (Zebra Lovegram Historical Romance) (Paperback)
Gentian wakes up on board ship in the bed of the ship's captain who tells her he's her husband. She has vague memories of being kidnapped by bad guys and projects those fears into a fear of the man claiming to be her husband, and doubts his identity. It becomes obvious very soon that he is, indeed, her husband and he saved her from kidnappers. So much for the premise of the book. There is a great deal of friction between this married couple for no good reason except the author thought it would make for interesting sexual tension. It doesn't. The heroine is childish and TSTL (too stupid to live) while the captain is older and mature, if a bit sleazy. What did these two ever see in each other? There is no interesting relationship or chemistry between them. Gentian spends most of the time either hysterical or throwing a tantrum, while her husband tries to deal with danger. One hopes she will be eliminated by an "unfortuante accident" so the husband can find someone more interesting and less high maintenance. Don't bother with this one.
