I absolutely love my Beltronics detector, and i finally decided to get rid of the coil/springy d/c power line in favor of the hardwire kit. The kit came with plenty of cord - both from the mute/button assembly to the detector and also to the fuse block. My two issues: 1)no velcro to attach the mute button anywhere, and 2) the "plug" end (to power the system) only has a generic power/fuse fitting on the end. I had to go to the auto parts store and buy a $7.99 fuse plug adapter, snip off the lead Beltronics had on the end of the hardwire, crimp on the fuse plug, find an empty fuse, etc etc etc... In short, i would have paid more for a "complete installation kit" rather than something so basic. Trust me - this kit works GREAT - and the way I have it installed makes all the wires almost invisible - practically factory looking. Beltronics makes a great product, but the instructions with the hardwire kit i bought and the lack of versatility in the install of it irritated me... If you have a Beltronics detector, don't hesitate to buy this kit, just be prepared to work a bit to make it work for you...!

This thing works great, was easy to install, plenty of wire for hookup. A bright red LED lights up when there's activity. I mounted it in an inconspicuous location on my dash near my instrument cluster and it really gives me an instantaneous notification telling me to slow down, especially if the audio on the unit is turned down, or I just can't hear it. It didn't come with any 2 sided tape for mounting though.

This is a great item to have if you (are like me and) hate wire clutter in the car. The cable spliced easily into the existing cable behind my cigarette lighter power socket. It would be nice if the kit included an extra quick-connector for the ground terminal instead of a wire lug. Also, I could see some people who may not like to do splicing and prefer an optional cigarette lighter type plug - they may already have wired in a 4 way "power strip" behind my cigarette lighter socket.

I now only have an inch of visible wire instead of 2 feet. Great product for the DIY car enthusiast!

I have always had radar detectors, but for some reason never got around to hard wiring them.
When I saw this hard wire kit including a monitor and mute button for my new Beltronics GPS/Radar Detector, decided
to get to work. It took all of 20 minutes to completely hide the wiring and using a "add a fuse," the detector was up
and running with very little effort. I mounted the monitor just to the left of the steering wheel, very convenient when muting signals during phone calls or conversations in the car. I give this device 5 stars!

Irecive the item in not waiting time at all, exelent deal and it came very good protected. I am very satisfied.
