2.0 out of 5 stars Ben 10 fans should skip this short, disappointing adventure
Too short! Someone needs to tell the game designers we deserve a Ben 10 game that lasts longer than a cartoon episode! This game delivers some of what you want, like switching alien forms: Spidermonkey, Swampfire, Echo Echo, Chromastone, Big Chill and Humungosaur. Too short! Someone needs to tell the game designers we deserve a Ben 10 game that lasts longer than a cartoon episode! This game delivers some of what you want, like switching alien forms: Spidermonkey, Swampfire, Echo Echo, Chromastone, Big Chill and Humungosaur. However, Ben 10 Alien Force: Vilgax Attacks ultimately disappoints with annoyingly difficult boss challenges, sluggish controls and no unlockables, a feature that often bolsters the replay value of other adventure games.

The bosses have huge health meters and, regardless which alien form you use to fight, you'll be pummeled with defenseless attacks until you discover the sole trick to defeat each boss. Then, you'll simply repeat the same attack until your button finger is blue.

My sons awarded a five-star rating to Ben 10 Protector of the Earth, the original Ben 10 game released on the DS in 2007. They awarded four stars to the follow-up game, Ben 10 Alien Force, (released in 2008) because it proved to be much less challenging than the first game. My sons reported that the fighting was repetitive and got old fast.

Ben 10 Alien Force: Vilgax Attacks continues that trend with a short, side-scrolling adventure that looks great, sounds perfunctory and finishes faster than you can believe. I can't recommend this game to even the most fanatic Ben 10 fans, my sons included.

Rating: two stars.

This was the choice of my 7-year-old son. He likes Ben 10 so he thought the game would be fun. He played it for a little while and still plays it on occasion (we've had it a while) but I think he might have made a different choice if he would have played it before we bought it.

Our grandson received this DS game for Xmas. He seems to really like it and I think it is age appropriate.

My son got this for Christmas last year (he was 5 years old). He is STILL loving it and going strong almost a year later. Even after he has defeated everything, he still likes to play because "it has lots of action".
