This latest addition Ultimatrix comes with a discshaped alien hero that can be placed inside the Ultimatrix and activated to pop up bringing the alien to life. These Alien Discs come packed with select articulated 4 figure. The Disc Alien Ultimatrix unlocks the alien voices & sounds of several characters from the cartoon, including Ultimate Spidermonkey, Ultimate Humungousaur, Ultimate Big Chill, Ultimate Swampfire, Ultimate Cannonbolt, Nanomech, Amphibian, Armodrillo, Water Hazard, Ultimate Echo Echo and NRG. Use the disc aliens (that comes in the #27770 Alien Collection figures) to watch each come alive in 3D.

This is a great item and fun to play with. My 7 yr old son loves it - alot. However, do NOT expect every alien disc that is made for this specific toy to actually work. Two for certain do NOT work with this toy: Rath and Lodestar. I contacted Bandai and they claim that "some of the discs are only supposed to make sound, not always voice". If you ask me, I think that is complete BS. They just messed up in production and do not want to admit it. I mean, WHY make ALL the other discs work correctly and have voice w/sound EXCEPT for a select few? WHY? SOME discs work, and some do not - that is the bottom line.
By the way, I know this for a FACT because when I got the first toy I complained to Bandai AND Amazon. Amazon sent a new replacement and the problem STILL exists. So, I then contacted Bandai and they did the same exact thing - and same problem. Other than that, this is my sons favorite Omnitrix, aka Ultimatrix, and he has all the other models.

i was excited to give this to my son for his 5th birthday, he loves ben 10 and role play stuff. the toy seemed really cool at first but proved to be a huge disappointment within minutes. the ultimatrix fit him well, the velcro strap being a wonderful feature. i had bought him 4 additional figures with discs since the toy just comes with one (ultimate humungosaur) and just having one is not that much fun. ultimate humungosaur, armodrillo, and nanomech worked and my son loved it, but he then tried big chill and swampfire and these didnt work, a huge let down for him. (there is also ultimate big chill and ultimate swampfire, maybe these would work??) i do not believe we had a faulty toy but that bandai made a mistake in production, and since for the toy to be worthwhile fun you need at least a few discs i returned it. it could have been really cool but it wasn't, and for the money i spent i would expect more. $20 for the ultimatrix and $7 for each additional figure/disc. other things to consider: the figures themselves are really good quality, my son really liked these but since we returned the other stuff we couldn't keep these :( the discs seemed quite flimsy and are small and clear, at one point we couldn't find one and it was like looking for a contact lens, something to consider since if you lose the discs you can't use the ultimatrix. also at one point my son put a disc in upside down (admittedly he forced it in,) but my husband had to take apart the entire ultimatrix with a screwdriver to get it out. small children may not be able to easily tell which is the right way up for the discs. so that was our experience with this toy for a day, i'm just thankful i got my money back since i spent $50 altogether on this. overall, the concept of the toy is great, and if you still want to go ahead with this make sure you buy the discs that work only!! i personally think the toy should be recalled because of this mess up.

This latest version of the Ultimatrix is pretty cool. The device fits really well and doesn't slide around. My kids were VERY happy about that.
We are, however, annoyed that many of the corresponding figures don't work with this. I was clued to this fact by another review, so I ordered three additional figures featured on the box. Rath and Terraspin DID NOT work with the device. Ultimate Big Chill did work. If you're going to buy additional figures, I suggest sticking to the ultimate incarnations.

Ok for the first few hours....
Neat idea and encourages imaginary play. Needs more disks in the initial package hard to find otherwise. Little rough to put disk in and out for little hands...
