This review is from: Ben: The Alien Bird (Hardcover)
Originally published in Denmark, this new English-language edition, lyrically translated by Aron and Alex Auswaks, wonderfully captures a boy's emergence into manhood in the midst of a world apparently gone mad. It is the story of one young man's effort to come to grips with his history, his ethnicity, and his place in the grand but indecipherable scheme of things, a story about what it means to be hated for reasons one can't understand, about what it means not solely to survive, but to survive as someone determined to love.
