I must say I'm a Ben Carson fan. If you seen the movie about Dr. Carson it's hard to bet against him. Ben Carson is interviewed in this program and he talks about his profession, being a doctor and how hard it was as a child. This program is a must have just because its Ben Carson. I just love American history, Black history and any other type of history that will give me more knowledge to share with my students.

Once again we are reminded that environment is just an opportunity not a determinant of one's aspirations. As the existentialists say ' even in the desert you can create something'. And that is what we have in this extraordinarily
remarkable story of a young man's quest for life meaning; instigated no less by a determined and loving mother who's refusal, to relinguish her son to the mean streets of detroit, can be called an epic human endeavor.
Without a stretch we have here serious sociological study for anyone, on a grand scale.

This is an easily read book that I bought to give to a student who doesn't yet value reading. I like that in this format it can be read quickly and the message conveyed without preaching. It has opened the eyes of many of my students to look again at their own possiblities.

I didn't know that this DVD would go into the actual process of surgeries.
For those who need a learning tool, it seems to be a good source. I, being a lay person, Ireally didn't watch the whole movie. I don't want to say anything negative. I think this movie is more geared for a student of medicine. I would have wanted to know that this product was more for a student of medicine. I feel this man is a very gifted individual and I was interested from that stand point. Thanks. Pat Hess
