Whether you're catching up on the latest show on the Internet or viewing documents, the BenQ GL2760H LED monitor is the perfect choice for you. Featuring a dynamic ratio of 12M:1, flicker-free technology, and a response time of 2ms, this 27"W 16:9 LED monitor delivers premium audiovisual enjoyment.

RevolutionEyes Monitor Technology Turns Screen Time into Dream Time

BenQ is revolutionizing the monitor industry with improved resolutions, faster response time and quicker refresh rates. Their exclusive RevolutionEyes technology empowers users to work and play better than ever before, and is also better for the eyes, allowing extended, comfortable vision. In the GL Series, RevolutionEyes technology includes BenQ's flicker-free technology, Low Blue Light, a slim bezel design, purpose-built color modes for easier viewing and improved Eco mode for long term power savings.

Low Blue Light for Enhanced Viewing Experience

To enable improved focus and address potential concerns over the amounts of blue wavelength light output, BenQ's new Low Blue Light technology can automatically reduce blue light output from 30-70% output depending on the mode you select. Multimedia: -30% / Web surfing: -50% / Office: -60% / Reading: -70%.

Flicker-free Backlight for Visual Pleasure

Flicker-free technology eliminates flickering at all brightness levels and effectively reducing eye fatigue. Conventional LCD screens flicks 200 times per second. Your eyes may not see flickers, but can certainly feel them. Free your eyes from flickers by switching to flicker-free monitors and let your eyes do less work.

12M:1 Ultra High Dynamic Contrast for Depth and Definition

The GL2760H comes with an ultra-high dynamic contrast ratio of 12M:1 to add color depth and definition to darkened and complex motion pictures, so that everything you see, from the brightest white to the darkest black, is perfectly rendered to deliver the clearest, smoothest picture performance during movies and video games.

Fast 2ms GTG Response Time

Fast response time of 2ms GTG means speed without the smear. Fast-moving action and dramatic transitions will be rendered smoothly--without smearing or ghosting. Control your gaming destiny and don't leave it in the hands of sluggish display.

Senseye 3 Visual Solution to Your Everyday Viewing Needs

Experience the truest colors of the world with the BenQ Senseye Human Vision Technology. With the help of its six proprietary calibration techniques, Senseye 3 delivers only the best viewing quality in each of its pre-set viewing modes--Standard, Movie, Game, Photo, sRGB, Reading, M-book and Eco--with the Eco Mode especially designed to save power and money.

UPDATE: Three months later (late Sept 2014) - I still love this monitor -- in fact, I just bought a second one so I can move the Thunderbolt display over and use it with my new MBP, so I will be connecting two of these to my mini.

I have a Mac Mini (Late 2012, running Mavericks) -- I am using an Apple Thunderbolt display as my main display, (through the Thunderbolt port, of course,) and the BenQ monitor as my side monitor via the HDMI connector. (I mention this because there was a question about whether this display would work with a Mac Mini, so this review is mostly aimed at Mac users, although most of it probably applies to all users.)

Overall, I'm pretty happy with this display - for the price, it has a nice picture, no missing pixels that I can see [your mileage may vary, of course,] and reasonably attractive glossy plastic black base, with tilt control.

Things I really like about it:
1) It comes with NO power or status LEDs on the front; I hate monitors that blink at me when I'm trying to watch a movie. My previous monitor had an eye-searing blue power LED, you know, just in case the picture on my screen wasn't sufficient indication that the monitor was truly 'on.' (There is a dim green LED on the side when it is powered on, but because of the shape of the screen you have to crane your head around to the side to see it, which is as it should be, IMHO.)

2) it's almost exactly the same picture height as my Thunderbolt display (maybe 1/4" difference) which is a nice perq on a second monitor.

3) The combination of flicker-free display tech and a configurable 'blue-light reduction' feature really does reduce eye strain when using this monitor. Nice.

So I've had this monitor for a week now. I use it mostly for gaming and occasionally watching TV or Movies.

First off, the monitor is a nice size, the stand is solid (unlike some at this price range), and took about 15 seconds to put all together. After setting it up and plugging it in, you will notice right away that the colors are off and some of you may know that BenQ is known for not having good calibration on their monitors out of the box. The picture is crystal clear and the monitor had NO dead pixels on arrival which is a huge plus. The menu takes some time to get use to navigating but the buttons are in a decent spot in my opinion. After a decent amount of time messing with the presets and settings, I got the colors to look pretty close to where I want them and I must say the picture overall is beautiful. Gaming is fast with the 2ms response time.

The only cons about this monitor is that the settings don't give you enough options (at least for me) to calibrate so you might have to go into your GFX card control panel to mess with the colors as well to calibrate it properly. Also, the speakers are WEAK but I did not buy this monitor for the built in speakers and that was to be expected.

After all is said and done, I am extremely happy with my purchase and it is a wonderful gaming monitor. Highly recommended!

I just got it today, and so far it's great.

Brightness:
The screen is really (and I mean, REALLY) bright! I'm actually using about 15-20% brightness for work.

Size:
For now, the size is really big as I'm used to work on a 24" (which I find not too big at all) but I guess you get used to it.

Response:
I played some games and the screen is surprisingly impressive! One of them is Counter Strike Source - quite a fast-paced game, and absolutely no lag\ghosting that I noticed.

Resolution\Detail:
The resolution could be better, 1920x1080 looks great on 22-24" screen..on 27" it looks OK+. Very usable , just don't expect razor sharp detail.

Light bleeding:
I put a black picture, turned off the lights in the room and I can say that there was some light bleeding in the picture. Only one that bothered me though (middle-left). I did not notice it in games or movies, although I didn't play any horror movies.

Viewing angles:
Horizontal - not bad at all.. seems like the picture is good up to ~60 degrees from the center to each side.
Vertical - it seems you don't get a lot of flexibility here. There is the sweet spot and it changes quickly when looking from under or above. I don't really care THAT much about it as I'm sitting in front of the screen.

Overall I'm very happy with this purchase. Especially for the price.

If you're a gamer (and you don't want to spend 500$) - go for it! Really, it's great!
If you're going to work on it, I would first try a 27" at the local store..see if it's not too big for you.
I intend to do some programming on it and I think in a day or two I'll get used to it.

One last thing - pay attention here!

I ordered this because I needed a large monitor without a large price tag for intermittent use in my home office. For that purpose I am very happy with this purchase so far. The monitor was well packaged, included everything that I needed, and booted up with no dead pixels. I did not use the included stand so I cannot comment on the durability or stability of the stand. I have mounted this on a "Mount-it" articulating desk mount which I highly recommend (see my other reviews).

If you are doing major graphic design work, serious photo editing, serious gaming, or are otherwise a monitor snob then you probably don't need to be looking in the value price range for a monitor. But for what I use this monitor for (limited CAD work, photoshop, word processing, etc.) it is working very well for me. We also spend a few hours here and there watching netflix on this monitor and it works well for that too. For what it's worth this monitor seems to be about as good as the more expensive Acer that I purchased for my real office and it also doesn't seem to contribute to a lot of eye strain either. I have only had it for a short while but so far so good and I will revise the post if I experience any trouble....
