Sure it's big, but with some major drawbacks
on July 24, 2015
After having used this monitor for several months, I've come to the conclusion that I just don't like it that much. It's big, sure, but I cannot for the life of me get a good looking picture on it. I figured it was just me messing with the settings incorrectly, but I've tried everything: some settings suggested online on forums, some from the reviews here, and some settings configurations entirely my own to try and best fit the room I use it in. Nothing has worked. The colors are flat and lack depth. The blacks are not black compared to my fiance's new Asus monitor and even compared to my older Acer monitor that now serves as my second screen. Everything looks somewhat washed out, and what's exceedingly obnoxious is that literally ANY movement on the screen leaves a light, faint blue/green/white blur behind for a second or so. It's exceptionally noticeable in games like World of Warcraft where panning the camera causes objects to leave ghostly blurs behind them, and on white screens when scrolling through text. I'm not sure how this monitor got so many good reviews, because the picture quality is just not up to snuff compared to the competition. If someone happens to know what my problem is, I'd love to hear it; but, the muted, flat colors, motion-blur, and lack of black/dark color depth have been really disappointing. My biggest regret is that I didn't send it back when I had the chance.
