BenQ RL2460HT Gaming Monitor

Unlock the Power, Unleash the Battle

The RL2460HT is one of the best gaming monitors developed for high-speed PC and console gaming. It is built to handle the raw intensity of the competition in every way. A new gaming feature, Fighting Mode, was co-developed with fighting game legend, Justin "JWong" Wong of Evil Geniuses. It enables gamers to highlight battle characters with special colors. And with Game Mode Loader, you can also download special gaming presets used by the professional players so you can see what the pros see. Each mode is fine-tuned so you can leverage these exclusive presets used by pro gamers. The RL2460HT is also the first gaming monitor built with an HDMI output to eliminate input lag, ensuring uncompromised streaming and gameplay.

HDMI Output for Uncompromised Streaming

Built-in HDMI output allows you to record and stream gameplay after it goes through the monitor instead of before, allowing you to view without the risk of input lag or delay. Now you can enjoy an audience while preserving monitor speed and performance, too. (Note: The HDMI Output feature only supports an HDMI input source. This feature is for screen mirroring only; extended display is not supported.)

Additionally, the RL2460HT has passed Windows 8/8.1 certification and is fully compatible with Windows 8/8.1 color systems. Plug in the RL2460HT to your computer, and Windows 8/8.1 will recognize it instantly, making setup and connection quick and effortless.

Key Features

Fast-moving action and dramatic transitions will be rendered smoothly without the annoying effects of smearing or ghosting.

The Black eQualizer Gives You Total Visibility

You can also use this for anything that offers HDMI output.

As a secondary monitor to my somewhat venerable 27" LG monitor, this monitor performs like a champ.

I mainly play Fighting Games Street fighter 4 and Ultimate vs. Capcom 3. The average Leo Bodnar lag is 10 milliseconds, which is the same as the Asus evo fighting game tournament monitor.

What makes this monitor unique is the HDMI out for video recording without adding extra input lag, if you don't need it. There are cheaper options like Benq RL2455HT or Asus VX238H

VESA mount ready, the included stand can also do portrait mode perfect for games like Raiden and Ikaruga. It has Built in power supply for portability

Most of the picture settings are not good, out of the box "standard" & "sRRG"has the best picture quality. I Find low blue light and black equalizer to be not useful when the monitor is properly calibrated. Benq has picture settings called "instant mode" when turn on it ensure the input lag is low as possible. In addition, Benq has 3 customizable buttons, which saves pictures & audio settings. I find these settings useful when quickly switching from games, movies, and PC.

Calibrated picture settings base on my preference which is deep black level, accurate colors, low noise on movies. I suggest saving this on your gamer profile and comparing with other default settings.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
This is easily one of the best console gaming focused monitors I've ever had the pleasure to use. For Xbox One, PS4, PS3 and 360, you will get what is likely the absolute fastest refresh rate available in a screen, virtually eliminating the display for input lag. For some gamers, this lag is noticeable, and for fighting games that are often down to the frame for input, this is an amazingly refreshing option.

Why do I say "console" gaming? Easy - it's all about resolution. If you play your PC games at 1920x1080 (aka 1080p), then this display is also perfect for you. If you are a hardcore PC gamer, and want to push resolution to the roof, this will not be the monitor for you.

All that being said, if you want a great monitor and want to play at 1080p, this is one of the best out there.

You can also use this for anything that offers HDMI output. I plugged in all the above systems, my DVD player and my Blu Ray player - all of them worked. There are only 2 HDMI inputs, so obviously I swapped HDMI cables to use it, but it worked. I also plugged my AV receiver output into the monitor (NOT RECOMMENDED if you are buying this for lowest possible input lag! If you are buying for lowest possible input lag, plug your device(s) DIRECTLY into the monitor as anything between the console/PC and the monitor will add lag) and got surround sound and video, no problem.

If someone were so inclined, they could easily use this as a display instead of buying a TV, though I've seen some 42" TVs for this asking price w/ 1080p - they don't, however, offer the 1 ms refresh rate. 1 ms is easily this monitor's defining feature, and it should not be ignored if you are a fighting game fan.

Here's how my monitor selection process went:

At first I was convinced I should get an ASUS MX series monitor with the fancy IPS technology for a better viewing angle, better looking design, better color, etc. But then I read some reviews and it didn't seem like a good choice for gaming - I guess IPS has "slower" response time than traditional technologies. Also, people were complaining about strange flickering effects.

This monitor captured my interest because of its fast response time (traditional TN panel), eye care technology, ability to rotate and adjust height, and price. And it looks like it's new on the market.

I've had it for about a week or so now and I quite enjoy it. I definitely notice that it's easier to look at for longer periods of time compared to my 5-yr-old LCD monitor. The only bad thing is that there's a pinhead-sized dark speck on the monitor. I believe it's a tiny group of dead pixels. I can hardly notice it so I'm not gonna whine about it. And yes, it doesn't have the greatest viewing angle, but it's not like I'm moving my head around or trying to watch stuff on it at weird angles.
One other cool thing is that you can save custom picture settings under three different profiles.

Oh yeah one other thing that you won't find in the info above! This monitor has built-in speakers! I don't think they're very good, but better than nothing?

It may not be the biggest monitor out there, or a 4k ips display, but if you are looking for a good gaming monitor that wont destroy your savings account, you just found your monitor. The tilt feature is very nice if I find myself in a weird angle. And all of the preset modes (Fighting, RTS, FPS to name a few) are pretty nice out of the box. You do have the option of customizing up to 3 presets if you wish to do so. I have only used DVI with this monitor and it looks fantastic. I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to invest in a monitor that will last them for a long time.
