Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

A 19-inch flat panel LCD from BenQ, the T904 is a stylish monitor that's ideal for a wide range of applications, including graphics, business tasks, and much more. With its 1,280 x 1,024 maximum resolution and 0.294 mm dot pitch, onscreen images are rich, crisp, and accurate. A 250 cd/m2 brightness rating and a high 700:1 contrast ratio provide easy-to-read text in a variety of lighting conditions. Additionally, the T904 has large 170-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles, so you can clearly see the displayed image from nearly anywhere in the room.

Plug-and-play compatible, the T904 is easy to set up and connects via its standard analog 15-pin D-sub cable (included). Its small 16.3-by-7.1-inch footprint takes up remarkably little space, while VESA wall-mount compatibility allows you to free up your desktop completely. The onscreen display menu allows you to easily adjust the monitor's settings, and an iKey auto-calibration button automatically resets the monitor to its optimal state. The AC 110/230V 50-60Hz power supply consumes just 40 watts of power (maximum) and is TCO'99 compliant. Compatible with both PC and Mac operating platforms, the T904 comes backed by a generous three-year warranty.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cannot beat this for the price, December 26, 2004
This review is from: BenQ T904 19" Flat-Panel LCD Monitor (Electronics)
Excelent monitor for the price. I purchased this as a second monitor for my home PC and was very happy with the quality and image. Originally I had planned on using this only for email and web browsing, but now may replace my Sony CRT and purchase another one of these. Bluring is pretty minimal, but the monitor does have a 25ms refresh so I would not reccomend this for a hardcore gamer.

All in all an excellent value.

Okay, I will admit first off that I am new to LCD monitors. So if I love this monitor, it is partly because I had grown used to the relatively soft-focus images of CRTs, and now I'm absolutely delighted with the clarity of this one, no doubt due to the one-to-one mapping between pixels in the image and pixels on the screen, as long as you stay at native resolution. I'm sure I could get an absolutely crystal-clear image with a DVI signal, if only I had a video card with the capabilities. Flatness and light weight are only good things, too. For these reasons alone, I would recommend LCDs to most people who are willing to spend a little more.

However, beyond the mere fact of its being LCD, this monitor is also inexpensive. And very bright, much more so than most CRTs I've seen. For those of us using analog input, the auto-adjust feature works nicely, given an appropriate calibration pattern. Windows users can run the little program included on the CD-ROM, while we Linux users can easily create something (alternating black and white 1-pixel stripes are what you need, and for perfect positional alignment, make sure all the edges are bright). And though there are LCDs with a response faster than this one's typical 25 ms, I find it barely noticeable most of the time.

I like black. It blends nicely into the dark background at my desk. Plus, it just looks cool.

In short, if you don't mind paying a bit more, dump your CRT and get this monitor: I highly recommend it!

2.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for, December 27, 2004
This review is from: BenQ T904 19" Flat-Panel LCD Monitor (Electronics)
I saw this monitor in my local flyer for a very low price (with all the rebates and all) and decided to get two to replace my current 17" LCD + 17" CRT combo. I thought that a 25ms response time will be sufficient (my older LCD was 20ms and I had no problems with ghosting in games or anything else)...the 25 ms is horrible...I think its actually worse than that. When I opened up the task manager, the green background grid flickered every time it moved...dragging broswer windows with gray content is painful...and games, well, just forget about it. This monitor has awful ghosting. And another annoyance: in the OSD settings there is a choice between D-Sub or DVI, but the monitor doesn't have a DVI port...not impressed at all, will return these tomorrow and get something more expensive but more pleasant to look at.
