Product Description

A Full HD Cinematic Indulgence! Enjoy the big picture - and the best seat in the house! The BenQ W1060 makes home theater set-up easy with Full HD resolution, 1800 ANSI lumens, 5000:1 contrast ratio, built-in 10W audio power, and dual HDMI inputs. All you need to do is plug ‘n play! The term Full HD refers to a native resolution of 1920x1080, the highest resolution HD currently available. With resolution at 1080p, you see each image in its full magnificent detail, and every viewing and gaming experience becomes more absorbing. BenQ's DLP projector engine design reduces the cooling time by over 60% and lowers the power consumption to less than 1W while the projector is inactive with the Standby Mode on. With the DLP filter-free design, you get to save the cost and hassles of filter maintenance and replacement all together - and get better projection quality, too. The DLP engine is virtually immune to color decay, delivering an extended lifespan of reliable color performance without developing a yellow or green tint over time.

I bought this product refurbished from BENQ almost a month so I expected it to have some scratches and maybe some hours of use, when I go it there were no scratch and looks brand new which was good. I plugged it in and it worked instantly, Was still easily visible in a bright room even on the economic bulb setting. It had 2 hours of use on the bulb which isn't much considering the 5000-6000 lifespan of the bulb. It comes with a remote, a vga cable and power cables and a carrying bag which is nice. The picture quality on the Projector Is amazing I have net experienced any noticeable rainbow effect and is very sharp. The throw distance is also very nice allowing me to use almost a full wall from just about 10 feet away it also has adjustable height stand so that you can easily get it to project on the surface you want. The color quality is amazing, as well as the resolution for a cheap 1080p projector this is very good, my family and I who have had experience with many projectors were surprised at the quality. The built in speaker is a little low quality as one would expect but it gets pretty loud, Another thing great about this projector is the extremely quiet fan so it doesn't interfere with audio your listening to much. It has adjustable focus and zoom allowing for a decent adaptability without moving as well. The one thing I would say is it take a couple mins to warm up before it displays the colors as it should, although it is pretty quick still, additionally it shuts down extremely fast which is nice. The large amount of input ports allow you to plug pretty much whatever you want into it as well. Additionally when playing games on it there is little to no lag allowing for a great gaming experience.

Overall: I would highly suggest this projector to anyone looking to get a projector within this price range or even a little above, as I found it to be a great projector.

This projector looked fantastic. After lots of time investigating other comprable projectors (under $1,000), I decided to purchase the W1060.
During some shows or films the projector would lose the picture, turn blue, re-scan all the video connections, and display the picture again. The problem started rarely at first, then happened 50 times during a show. There is no way to disable the auto-scan feature. BenQ tech support did not return my e-mails or phone messages left in their support voice mail box.
Sorry, but I had to return it.

Took a chance on this projector and am very pleased. I was looking for the lowest price projector that supports 1080P native resolution. This is it. Bought it refurbished from Benq and it works great. Two HDMI ports and a VGA port make it very versatile. I needed this projector to show both PowerPoints and DVD/Blu-ray movies. I have used it with both a macbook pro (DVD) and an HP laptop with a blu-ray drive. No problems with either. However, I had to look up online how to get the audio to come through the HDMI to the projector. Turns out it is a Sound setting in the System Preferences panel on the mac. Easy to set up, connect, focus, zoom. I did not buy this to use for home theater but it is nearly high quality enough to pull it off with true 1920x1080 resolution and 1800 ANSI lumens. The fan is relatively quiet compared to my Optoma projector in my home theater setup. Setup menu is easy to use and has many available customizations and settings.

I realize that a home theater has its own sound system but I would like for this projector to have a little more amplification capability for its built in speaker. It is not quite loud enough when I am using it with kids in a room that doesn't have a sound system. That is really my only complaint about this unit. But what do you expect when spending less than $700 for a full HD projector.

I understand now that there is a newer model available new at around $800 (according to Amazon - Benq EP5920, probably worth a look).

We just finished our basement and wanted a big screen tv for watching the "big game" on. The price was less than a much smaller flat screen television. Purchased for under $775 and now have about a 94" picture. Was easy to install. It's been in for about 6 months now and we're pretty happy with it. It runs quiet. Once the tv is on, you can't really hear the fan running on it. It was easy to setup. It is plenty bright. My biggest complaints with the projector are the sharpness of picture and color. I don't know if this is due to the projector or just simply the size of the picture. My cable signal is 1080p going through HDMI cables so I'm good there. I suspect it is the low end projector. It's not bad but from time to time I notice it, especially when watching the hockey game. By far the worst thing is the color. I can't seem to get the color just right. It looks good for some shows but others it is off a little. Sometimes the color of skin has a red tint to it or the shades are off a little. I don't want to sound like the picture is awful because it isn't but if you are looking for a really top notch picture I would recommend a pricier unit. For what I spent, I'm very happy. I was unsure whether I would like a projector so I didn't want to break the bank. This was a good choice. I will likely upgrade in another 3 or 4 years to a higher end unit.
