Motion Blur Reduction for Extra Clarity Throughout the Game

BenQ's new Motion Blur Reduction technology further enhances an ultra-smooth, free-of-blur gaming experience, particularly for action-packed first person shooter games where every millisecond counts. With Motion Blur Reduction, gamers no longer suffer from time and gaming comfort lost due to poor vision quality created by motion blur and lagging. Instead, they have everything to gain with a reaction time advantage on their side to achieve a flawless victory.

Low Blue Light as Eye Safety Measure

Practice long hours with clear, comfortable vision or compete with top-notch vision condition with BenQ’s new Low Blue Light. The blue spectrum light, which is produced by regular computer screens, is a critical cause of eye damage, eyestrain, headaches and sleeping disorders. Now with the offering of various adjustable low blue light levels, gamers can better protect their eyes. So there would be no need for yellow tinted eyeglasses for additional eye protection, and gameplay can be clear, comfortable and hassle-free.

Gaming-comfort ZeroFlicker Technology

Developed in collaboration with pro gamers, the XL2720Z has been upgraded to eliminate flickering at all brightness levels. This effectively reduces eye fatigue and elevates gaming performance through extreme visual comfort for even the most hardcore gamers enrolling long hours in action. Armed with the Gaming-comfort ZeroFlicker Technology, the BenQ Gaming Monitor is an epic weapon over your ultimate rivals.

Gaming Refresh Rate Optimization Management (GROM)

As the world's leading brand in gaming monitor, BenQ manages to provide more than just the refresh rate feature for different resolutions to reach more levels of optimal refresh rates (100/120/144Hz) with Gaming Refresh rate Optimization Management (GROM), which aims to bring users the incomparable gaming performance. With the gamer-driven GROM that collaborates with Display Mode and Smart Scaling strengths, BenQ offers a total refresh rate solution for gaming enthusiasts.

Specially Designed S Switch for Swift Control and Navigation

The XL2720Z comes with a stylish S Switch. This distinct remote controller comes with three preset buttons so you're able to customize and save your display settings for gaming, work or entertainment purposes. Use the scroll button on the S Switch to quickly navigate and change the OSD settings. It eliminates the tedious process of adjusting your monitor settings. Now switching seamlessly between the presets is as easy as 1-2-3. Download special gaming presets used by the professional players so you can see what the pros see. Each mode is fine-tuned so you can leverage these exclusive presets used by pro gamers to your own advantage. They can be saved on your S Switch for quick access and game play. More presets from professional gamers will be released in the future so you can always stay on top of your game.

The Black eQualizer for Total Visibility

Poor visibility in dark scenes can cost even the most skillful gamers their game. The Black eQualizer color engine technology is designed to offer an unprecedented level of control and visibility. Dark scenes are brightened without over-exposing the bright areas to preserve vital details, enabling gamers to spot their enemies easily in critical combat and react quickly in any situation.

Most LED monitors hurt my eyes. BenQ uses "low blue light technology" which seems to treat my eyes well. Indeed, I can play for hours with NO eye fatigue. Therefore, BenQ gets 5 stars from me for eye care alone. I had Asus monitors and their colors are amazing, yet they hurt my eyes a lot after a short period of time.

So I ordered this monitor back when it first came out, probably a week after. I had my mind set on getting the XL2420TX, I wanted the TX because it had the 3d built in along with glasses which I thought was a great deal for the price it was marked at.

I waited around because I thought 4k might be more spectacular than the price tag, well it isn't yet and I was ready to buy a Monitor.

First off the really catchy thing about this monitor that made me look into it was the fact that they threw "Gaming" into the name. I am an avid gamer, I game on 360, Xbox One, PC, Ps3.. I game a lot. I've played many FPS games with this monitor as well as games like Skyrim, War Thunder, Arma 3, DayZ, and many more.

So right out of the Box, well if you order this its going to be shipped in the manufacture box it was meant to be marketed in. Which is kind of a risky operation. 500$ you think you would get discrete packaging or at least you would have to sign for this!? Nope Fed Ex came and dropped it on my front porch in broad daylight, not to mention snow everywhere and melting!! They just dropped it and ran, didn't even try to knock. I had cars rolling down the street slowing down and scoping out my box when I seen it on the porch. I mean, its pretty obvious what it is, and the box doesn't make it look like a cheap toy.

(Even though I was fully aware that BenQ has a 3 year manufacture warranty, and I was smart enough to buy it directly from them so there will be no roundabouts about returns if ever needed, for say dead pixels?)

After my frustrating dilemma of getting it into the house, I noticed that the box had been opened, or at least the tape had been cut to get a good peek at what was inside.

Let me first start off to say I am a 40 year old man that still plays video games and I need all the edge I can get playing FPS shooter games. For the longest time I have played on a console TV and thought that was the only way to go. BOY WAS I WRONG. The competition will eat you alive because of the input lag that your TV is probably experiencing. The first time I played Titanfall on this game I could notice immediately the difference in response as well as my kill/death ratio drop. I can see why the professionals game on these monitors because they are sharp and have GREAT response time. Ben Q is the leader in gaming monitors and I highly recommend this to anyone that enjoys gaming at a high level. You won't be disappointed and stick with the 27". You may pay more but trust me these 3" from the 24" makes a huge difference. I should know I had the 24" and had to return it because I needed it bigger for my office. 5 stars BenQ. Great Product.

Great monitor. I like the 27" display and 1ms response time. It really makes a difference on the fps's. If it was higher resolution that would just make it perfect.
I have my PlayStation 4 connected and plan on buying a good gaming pc. Overall is like this monitor very much and would recommend it to everyone.

I ordered this monitor, and It is fantastic! The colors are great, the best I have seen on any 144hz monitor by a mile. Also the group I ordered through on Amazon was amazing! The monitor showed up WAY ahead of schedule, and made my weekend! Now only waiting for my gtx 980's and I'll be set.

I purchased this to replace a Dell 2405fpw, an old-as-dirt but incredibly reliable and clear LCD monitor I purchased for about 1000 USD (!) years ago. Nothing is wrong with the monitor but I was looking for a faster refresh rate for gaming. My ancient Dell has an adequate-for-the-time 60Hz refresh rate. I would see "tearing" unless vsync was enabled. With vsync enabled, I experienced stuttering and a ceiling of 60 FPS, which was acceptable compared to tearing.

With the XL2720Z, there is no need to compromise. Well, there are SOME compromises.

Color reproduction is not great OOB but that can be compensated for with a little calibration. I would advise against purchasing this monitor if color accuracy is a high priority, i.e. photo editing.

The other issue is light-bleed--there's a little emanating from the bottom of my screen. Not a big deal for most purposes.

Almost not worth mentioning but this monitor displays at a "legacy" (Hah!) 1080p. Again, not a show-stopper for most purposes, especially not gaming. Unless you have dual Titans in SLI or the equivalent AMD in Crossfire configuration, you won't have a playable game at higher resolutions (WQHD, 4K, multi-monitor).

Finally, it does take a little tuning in the monitor controls to get an optimal experience. You have to balance brightness with strobe frequency for the "blur reduction" feature. There's also a BenQ-sanctioned "Strobe Utility" application from Blur Busters that will allow you to further fine-tune the strobe settings.

But let's not get caught up in the bad points. The optional control dongle allows you to make setting changes without having to fiddle with notoriously tedious bezel buttons. The dust cover is a nice addition.
