My son has severe allergies. We are usually pretty careful about where he goes and what he eats. Nevertheless, several times a year he has an allergic reaction. When that happens, these strips are life savers. He likes the taste, and they work very fast. Best of all is that they are so thin I can easily stick one in my wallet next to my drivers license. They take up so little space that don't notice them. But when I need one, it's handy.

I have alot of food allergies, and well, allergies to alot of airborne things as well (dust, dander, household chemicals, perfume). Unfortunately these tend to be severe (swelling closed of the throat, extreme breathing difficulties, rash, life threatening symptoms). Instead of hitting myself with an epi pen a few times, I have taken these as directed by doctor. They work quickly, MUCH faster than pill form and I can feel my worst symptoms start to alleviate after 5-8 minutes after taking them.

There is NOTHING more WONDERFUL than feeling your throat start to open back up after its closed so tightly it sounds like you are sucking air out of a straw. A relief, a miracle!
I do NOT go anywhere without them.

A doctor's office crammed with people wearing perfume that started out being a torture session (breathing in gasps, clamp feeling around chest, headache) was competely cleared up by ONE of these strips that I had in my purse.

Yes, they taste VERY minty, and leave a burning taste in your throat for awhile, but its a small, VERY small price to pay for the FREEDOM these can give people with severe allergies.

THEY WORK. WONDERFULLY.

These things are so fast it's amazing. My husband has a nut allergy, esp. to peanuts. There have been many times when these things have literally stopped him from suffocating after eating in restaurants. (Yes, he has an Epipen, but doesn't always bring it with him.) They slip in his wallet very easily, and I always carry them in my bag, and we have them in our medicine cabinet, too.

We use them for our little boy, who also has a lot of food and dust allergies which can trigger his asthma. I talked to our pediatrician who gave me the correct mg. dosage for his weight, and we can just easily fold, crease and tear the strips into quarters or halves as per the dose. (He calls them "itchy mints"!) I give him water right after because the mint taste is a little "spicy" for him, but he's now very used to it. It is very easy to pop into a child's mouth and it works soooooo fast compared to a pill or liquid. Boom! Relief. Try to give liquid to a screaming bucking toddler!

We even came to the aid of a young mom in a sushi place whose 3 year daughter started having a severe allergic reaction to some seafood. She panicked and didn't know what to do, so I asked her kid's weight and we gave her a conservative dose and in about 2 minutes she was back to pretty normal breathing and her itching hives started settling down. Again, we were happy to have them on hand!

Anyway, we love these things. Only drawbacks: they are sometimes hard to locate except in large, well-stocked drug stores, and they are tough to open to say the least. In fact I now carry a little manicure scissors in my purse to do it. It could definitely be better designed, but perhaps it is a childproof setup.

If you're desperate to dose a recalcitrant child (I have an autistic daughter) then these strips are a life-saver. They're melted and swallowed very quickly and usually before they have a chance to spit them out.

This is a great alternative that travels easy. I just throw the packets in my purse. I have a history of anaphylaxis and have to use benadryl with a quick reaction and this is ideal. According to my allergist it even has some local effect on the swelling of the tongue. I do wish it came in a 50mg size so I wouldn't have to use two. Especially since I am not a fan of the taste.

NO WATER NEEDED. For anyone with acute allergic reactions, these words alone should make this product worth buying.

I suffer from food preservative allergies, meaning that I occasionally get caught by surprise when someone forgets to let me know that something "extra" is in their dish. I also suffer from hives due to outdoor allergies.

Nothing worse than being far from water and discovering you urgently need an emergency dose of antihistimine. Trust me, those capsules don't go down easy "dry."

Since I have purchased these, I have used them several times with great success. If anything, they work faster than the capsules, and as another reviewer mentioned, for some reason they don't seem to make me as sleepy as the capsules. The minty vanilla taste worked well for me, and while there was a mild aftertaste, it was more like the aftertaste of a cough drop than anything else.

I highly recommend these for anyone needing to carry emergency doses of benadryl around - flat, easy to slip in a wallet or pocket, great for first aid kits - and as I said in my title - NO WATER NEEDED!

These strips are great for my daughter. She is 7 and has severe seasonal allergies, she HATES all liquid medicine, it is such an issue to get her to take liquid medicine and I dont blame her I am the same way, and she doesnt like chewables or pills to swallow, I wish all medicine came like this, the problem is I can never find them. And now amazon doesn't carry them.

Pros: These strips have saved me time and again from a sudden allergy attack. While not as fast as an inhaler or as effective as an epi-pen, these do the trick. I have even given half a strip to my children when they were having a sudden allergy attack.

Cons: They are hard to find, though, taste terrible, and are a bit expensive.

I don't have serious alergies... just a few random ones and the occassional season allergies... but these are a godsend.

My husband and I just moved into a house with a ton of flowers/trees and a giant garden in the back and have to leave our windows open at night for the nice cool breeze.... its been torture for the past couple of nights while everything blooms.

I had a few of these in my bag and took one, within about 10 minutes i felt nearly all my symptoms lessen and i wasnt left with that huge drousy feeling afterward.

Ive taken benadryl tablets before, but feel like i'm knocked out after -- even the non-drousy version knocks me out. These little strips are great -- flavors not terrible and i dont even notice the slight numbing to start.

I just ran out of these and have been calling all over town to find them -- supposedly Albertsons still gets these, so i'll be checking that out after i get off work.

I love these quick-dissolve strips. I always have one or two in my purse, by the bedside, anywhere I might need one handy- and when I give one to someone, they immediately want to know where to get them. They travel perfectly in a wallet, nice and thin right in with the credit cards. They work great, just like any tablet would, only faster. For me, faster is very helpful, especially when faced with a sting or an allergic reaction. I also use them to help me sleep on rare occasion, as the ingredient is the same as in many over-the-counter sleep aids. I have read someone didn't like the taste. I think there may be two flavors; either way, I like them fine. They dissolve so quickly, I can't imagine what the big deal is. The slight numbing isn't unpleasant at all, and also goes away quickly. I can't live without these.
