For twelve bucks you get one adapter and a bolt. Rockler dot com (which I think bought Bench Dog) has a "Miter Slot Hardware Kit" with two adapters, each with a bolt *and* a knob, and costs $7. They are perhaps not the same material, but appear to have the same purpose, and cost less than a third of the price.

I had looked into making my own, til I saw the ad for this unit. It is neat, easy to adjust & lock. I purchased it, am very happy with the choice. It works for both my portable table saw, and my router table.

I bought this for the Craftsman 10" Tablesaw (Sears item# 00921805000).
It does not work with it, though it is a solid piece and looks like it would do the job for other table saws that are wide enough to accept it.

bought this as a replacement for one that I had modified for a Craftsman saw. This one works just as good as the origional one did.

I had to modify the miter slot adapter of the Bench Dog Featherboard to fit a non-standard miter slot on an old table saw. After I replaced that saw I had a miter slot adapter that did not fit the standard miter slot. Perfect replacement, is like the un-modified adapter that originally came on the featherboard.

This adapter is not secure in the mitre slot, because it has only one expansion slot/bolt. It needs two -- one at each end. My homemade adapters are oak, have a securing slot/bolt at each end, and are more secure than this Bench Dog device.

My table saw has a 3/4" miter slot, so this adapter is the difference between my Bench Dog featherboards being useful tools for accurate and safe woodworking or being junk (for my table saw). My only irritation lies with the slot adapter not being offered or recommended when I purchased the featherboard. If it had been, that would have saved me some time as I could have purchased them together. As for the slot adapter, it connects to my featherboards easily and works as needed in my miter gage slot.

Bought the featherboards seperately thinking that they came with the slot inserts. These slot adapters fit perfectly into the featherboards and I now have 2 functional units.
