Product Description

Now you can get the same great performance and design features found in the Model 140 Nimravus, in a true Tanto blade style. The 4.5" full-tang ComboEdge blade is ground from 154CM stainless steel and features a false edge that lightens the blade without sacrificing tip strength. The Blades are BK1 coated - Benchmade's proprietary blade coating offering excellent corrosion resistance, which exceeds the ASTM-117 specification for saltwater corrosion resistance. BK1 is a poly-ceramic coating (a blend of polymers and ceramic). It's thinner than the previous blade coating BT2, has equal to or better corrosion resistance (exceeding the ASTM salt spray standard) and unlike BT2 has much better wear resistance due to the ceramic. Additionally they have integrated a series of positive indexing notches in the spine for sure-grip blade control. One of the most important features of any fixed blade should be the sheath, and this one is no exception. The sheath may also be carried inside, or outside, the waistband. The versatility of the knife and its sheath design allows for carry and use in nearly any application that warrants a tough, mid-sized fixed blade.

Yes, I am a proud owner of the Benchmade 141 Nimravus black tanto blade, combo edge 154 CM. Though mine features a customized Microtech serration pattern, I find that the quality of the blade is unmatched by any other knives I own. It is a great tool for camping and for survival conditions and has yet to fail me. It retains an edge very well and I can keep it at its factory edge.

You can feel the quality of the blade, even though it is 154CM like any other premium knife out there; though personally, I would believe M2 steel would be just as superb even if it requires more maintenance. The G10 handle has more of the weight, so for some users it can be a bit more back-heavy than other knives but I find it a nice weight and form in my own hands (I have a medium-glove sized hand).

The molded kydex sheath is quite nice, as it form fits the blade and keeps it in place with the thumb toggle. It can be worn sideways (though the belt loop would get in the way), upside-down, right-side up and still stay sheathed.

All in all, a great knife--possibly too great for the average camper. Highly recommended for law enforcement and military.

Love it, only wish it was D2 steel like most other benchmade tantos. It came pretty sharp for me too.

I really like this knife. It seems to be a very high quality blade. This is my first Benchmade and I'm not disappointed(I own several different brands of high end blades). The green handle is more of an acu green than the brighter green that the picture shows(a good thing in my book).

This is my second Nimravus - I bought this one to wear on my gear, the other one is permanently mounted in my boot. Excellent knife in fit, finish and feel.
