I was a little shocked by the price, until i got it! Its very good quality and is its own class.... Badazz!!

If you can appreciate this for what it is,the mechanics, the manufacturing detail, you will be well-pleased. First, what it's not...this is not a practical, working knife for any serious cutting. It would however, make a great letter opener. The manufacturing detail and finish are excellent, for those who can appreciate such things. As for the "cool factor", it rates highly. Get yours now, while they are still available, before the "Nanny State" decides you're not competent enough to own one.

I own this knife but do not carry it. It has no real functional use and is nothing more than a knife to show off to your friends. I wanted to be sure to have it in my collection because one day they will stop making it. The blade slides in and out with the use of the button and it locks in solid. It does not release even after jamming it into a hard surface. This is a must own knife if you collect them or like odd knives.

Unlike the person that stated that this knife has no purpose other than show off to friends, I can't disagree more. Having been a martial artist most of my life (over 35 years), I teach quite a bit of knife fighting. This knife has a HUGE purpose as this is the ultimate fighting knife.

Now, understand that this knife should NOT be used to open letters and boxes etc, it is a true life and death knife. The blade is very thin and the tip of the knife is going to be a very weak point if you decide to pry with it or treat it poorly. This knife is Quality and as Steve Martin stated in the "Jerk", "Today I found out what my Special Purpose is for"..

I received the knife on 4/8, and something didn't feel right. I wrote an email to Benchmade describing the printing on the pocket clip, the belt case, which looks inferior, and doesn't match the quality of other items which I have from Benchmade.

Benchmade has earned a reputation as a top of the line knife maker. I own 3 of their products and this is the crown jewel of their line. Sold and intelligently designed.

Make it short and sweet, do not buy this as a self defense weapon. It's simply a showoff piece, thats all. The knife spring itself isn't that strong, (especially when compared to a Microtech) ;if you fold a piece of paper over the front of the knife and slide the button forward the blade stalls and has to be reset. Second, blade shape, many faults here, one, no slashing capability, second , if you have a glancing blow off of something hard or body armor two things will most likely happen, you will snap your blade or break the spring mechanism inside. Third , reach, you don't have any. If your line of work involves anything tactical anything that is a folder shouldn't be your weapon of choice to begin with, and as a back up knife it's fails at everything. Only reason I even did this review is that Benchmade markets this knife as a viable option for law enforcement and military when it shouldn't even be considered . Some knives to consider if you do actually want a tactical folder.

Those are just a few and not in any order before people start arguing. You can simply put in _______ is better than a Infidel for a self defense weapon. Past that enjoy it, I dig sipping on a beer watching Dirty Jobs while my knife blade goes in and out while I slide a button.
