The flame resistant hooded sweatshirt is made from an equal, and intrinsic, blend of modacrylic fibers and long staple cotton. The fleece sweatshirt looks and feels like your favorite ‘hoodie’ with a generous fit, two large pockets, a three-piece lined drawstring hood and dielectric front zipper. Stress points are reinforced and sewn with flame resistant thread. The inner face of the knit fabric is fleeced, which holds body heat and insulates from the cold. Sleeve cuffs are made using a circular knit process which eliminates seams; the cuff will keep its elasticity and shape throughout use. Code compliance includes OSHA 1910, NFPA 70E, ATPV = 16 cal/cm2 HRC2, ASTM 1506, NESC 2007 and conforms to international health codes for toxicity. When simple care instructions are followed the sweatshirt will shrink less than 3% and have excellent colorfastness. Home washing is the recommended method for laundering. While commercial and industrial laundry will not affect the flame resistant properties it will reduce the wear the life of the sweatshirt due to abrasion. Detailed care instructions are on the main sewn in label. Clean garment if soiled with contaminants or flammable material. Home washing instructions are simple and mostly require leaving out chemicals during the home laundering process. Use normal or cotton cycle washing machine settings with warm water or normal temperature setting. Store bought laundry detergent (for example Tide® or All®) should be used. Do not use bleach, hydrogen peroxide or oxygenating agents (OxyClean®) whether separate or contained within the detergent. Do not use lye based, tallow or home-made soaps. Do not use fabric softeners. Tumble dry low or medium heat, avoid over drying and pressing with open steam. Do not use starch. Avoid excessively hard water, use softening agents (Calgon®) or water softening systems.
