The movie opens a window into an immigrant family's life and subsequently Indian culture.
Not surprisingly, "Bend It Like Beckham" is the most successful of these films thus far, because it is the most comical and accessible.
It is about a teenage Indian girl (nicknamed Jesse) in London who loves soccer and hopes to play for the British woman's team.
