I just finished reading the latest book from Higher Balance. "Bending God: A Memoir" written by Eric Robison, a member of the Higher Balance staff. The book details the first four months of the author's relationship with Eric Pepin, the founder of Higher Balance. The story occurred over the summer seven years ago, in and around Los Angeles, California.

Let me say, that overall the book absolutely stands alone in many ways. The book is fabulous. It is enjoyable, entertaining, and informative. First, you do not have to be a Higher Balance devotee to read and enjoy the stories. The stories are enjoyable, mesmerizing and told in a way that completely draws you in. The first hand experiences alone are worth the price of admission, but the author also relates stories he was told by older students along the way. For beginning students, the book also lays out a framework of nearly the entire landscape of knowledge that Eric Pepin teaches in the Higher Balance expansion modules, with only a few notable exceptions. For Higher Balance's Star Reach participants and advanced students, there are little nuggets of information in almost every chapter not currently laid out in any other format.

The sum total of these things is very enjoyable and entertaining book that will suck you in and keep you turning the page until the very end. I don't want to spoil the plot, but the last chapter of the book is every bit as dramatic the first chapter. And chapter one begins with a disembodied floating head. Along the way, the book is filled with spiritual information and hard won knowledge. The information and knowledge is enough to keep students studying, thinking about and reflecting on for years.

The title piqued my curiosity. My gut feeling said "no way." Curiosity killed the cat. I confidently skipped the endless paragraphs with poorly written (from a cohesiveness perspective) anecdotes about how one casual event led to another. Disappointment set in at about page 2. The book ended up, in my humble perspective, appearing as almost nothing but a sales pitch for the works of someone else whose work I had already decided not to be interested in. I have read many spiritual, self development, psychic oriented works over the past few decades. Yet, I am always looking for honest accounts of other people's lives because of course we all share the journey of life at this moment. I believe in the value of integrity and a sense of self-worth. If I had known about the author's intentions I would not have purchased his book nor taken the time to read it.

I had high hopes based on the reviews. Found this book to be so incredibly boring, repetitive and just downright crazy. First of all this Eric guru seems to have the answers to everything and states them with full conviction. There is no back story as to how he came to this enlightened state but what was disturbing is his replusive "recruiting" of cult followers. Now, keep in mind, I could not get through the entire thing because it was written so badly. I kept forwarding my Kindle looking for something I could sink my teeth into. I almost thought I was reading fiction but either way, fiction or non fiction, the writing was so poor that I just could not continue reading. Maybe there were gems later in the book that I didn't get but I just became weary of the whole thing. It's possible that I'm just not evovled enough to really "get it" but I have been reading spiritual materials for quite some time and this struck me "page after page" to be mostly "filler". Sometimes I really feel like these rave reviews are written by friends and relatives of the authors.

This is one the best books i have read in a long long time. I hate to see it end and is one I will reread, as there is so much wisdom contained in it. For all spiritual seekers, seeking the less traveled road. who have not found what they are looking for in conventional settings, know there is more to life than meets the eye.

I hold a deep amount of reverence for this book. It has brought many lessons upon me that can only happen by something as true as this factual account. It tells a tale of a seeking mind brought to life by a man with deep mystery. The kind of mystery that is told in ancient scrolls of the lost past. His teachings and knowledge bring one closer to the mind of God and start to unravel the mysteries of the multiverse.

I don't want to go through the story because that would only be cheating the pure essence of this once in a lifetime adventure. Read this book and be prepared for your mind to start flexing upon the real possibilities of your existence. This universe is just waiting for you to become, to recognize itself through this knowledge. Start the journey but be prepared for a life changing event that can only be experienced by first understanding and then full on first hand exploration of inwardness.

I am a reader of many books on spiritual enlightenment, I am a seeker. This book is enlightening and frustrating. I found that I was wading through pages of what seemed like fillers to be faced with a golden nugget of thought. With 0ver 500 hundred pages sadly I got very good a skimming through the overly long description of the drop in flat, coffee house, car journeys, and relationships I did not really engage with. Eric Pepin was the only character of interest. This book is in desperate need of editing
