Ideal when cooking breakfast for one,

I use this small lidded skillet every day to cook my breakfast. I put a teaspoon of butter in the bottom and a slab of turkey ham and a chunk of cheese on top of that. Around the periphery, I put half-slices of mushrooms or squash or tomato or a combination, making a flower design. Then I cover and cook on medium-low heat (3.5 of 10)for twelve minutes. Then I add two eggs, pepper and sometimes basil or dill, and cover and cook for seven minutes more. Then I remove it from the burner, let the concoction settle for ten minutes and breakfast is served. Perfect every time.Prior to purchasing this pan, I used a Calphalon 6-inch omelet pan that they don't make anymore with a lid from the thrift stove that fit just inside the lip. It worked well enough, but looked junky. Having a fitted glass lid with a vent is better. Not just in the looks department. The vent allows some of the steam to escape and being glass you can see if the eggs have firmed up without removing the lid and losing steam and heat. I have no idea about the long term durability of this product. I have been using it daily since I got it four or five weeks ago and I see no signs of wear.

I bought this item as a gift and she loves it. As a single person she didn't need a large skillet in cook in so it is perfect for her.

I love this little plan. It is great for sauteeing onions, grilling a sandwich or frying eggs. I bought it to replace a small frying pan my daughter took to college, but this one is even better because of the lid.

I own a lot of cookware in all different sizes and shapes; I have woks, a tagine, windsors, an evasee, a zabaglione pan, etc. I recently decided to purchase some small skillets, mostly to try out the size. I purchased a T-Fal 4.5-Inch pan and several 5" cast iron skillets and I am very happy with them within their limits. I liked the look of the Bene Casa Frypan 6" frypan so I decided to give it a shot. I am not happy with it at all and I plan on giving it away. Here is why:My other cookware is mostly high-end stuff so if it sounds like I'm judging this pan too harshly it might be because I am used to something more heavy-duty. This one certainly isn't heavy-duty, as a matter of fact it is very thin and poorly finished. I really liked the shape of it; the sloped sides would make it perfect for sauces, a small serving of soup or a few eggs. Unfortunately it heats unevenly and since it is so thin it is too easy to burn whatever you're cooking in it, especially if it's eggs or a delicate sauce. The lid is well made but I would have gladly paid much more for a fry-pan shaped like this, only better made. I guess that considering the price I should have expected what I got, however, I am happy with the 4.5" pan that I purchased from Amazon and it was even less expensive. This one might be O-K for light use, but to me it is worthless. Oh well, live and learn. T-Fal Specialty 4.5-Inch Nonstick One Egg Wonder Pan, Grey Lodge Logic L5MS3 5 Inch Miniature Skillet

Dangerously unbalanced--Otherwise would be GREAT,
This review is from: Bene Casa Frypan N/S 6" w/ Glass Lid (Kitchen)
This pan has one major flaw that should rule it out: it falls over because the handle is so much heavier than the pan itself. When the pan is empty or has a few lightweight items in it (e.g. an egg or a small onion), it WILL fall over, nearly 100% of the time--even if you put it on a flat countertop. The only conditions under which it won't fall over are if you are holding the handle, if the glass cover is on it, or if heavy food items are inside.Quality is otherwise pretty good. Non-stick works great, well-made lid fits nicely, and it cooks acceptably well. The imbalance issue makes it a "don't buy," because in most common cooking use, at some point, one will need to lift off the counterbalance of the glass lid, or let go of the handle; and a hot pan containing hot food or oil could cause injury, damage to the fallen pan or at least a total mess of the stove. I love the hard-to-find 6 inch size and the fact that it has a nice lid, and will probably not spend the time or the cost of returning it. I'll find some very limited, and CAREFUL, use of it. For safety reasons alone, I would not recommend it.

Cheap and worthless,

I got a Bene Casa pan and it was a GREAT disappointment. Cheaply made and poorly balanced. Foolishly I tried to use it instead of immediately returning it. On a perfectly flat burner it leans to the left and therefore only cooks on that side. I will never order any of their products again. AND I will be sure to check a product more carefully before using it. Lesson learned.

Love this frypan, but....,

I've got to say that I really like this pan, the nonstick surface has been better than any of the nonstick pans I currently have.. and it's 6" size is handy for a lot of things when I didn't want to use a larger pan. There are two minor issues that have occurred while owning it since December 2010 (and really, the first issue was since day one). 1. The screw that is used to attach the lid knob comes loose ALL the time, yes it's handy to be able to take the knob off to clean under it, but the screw is loose/loosens every single time when using it. So the knob is always turning in your hand unscrewing even more. The screw that is used to attach to the lid is an extremely soft metal so attempting to screw it on tighter the screwdriver can/will strip the head of the screw. 2. Second problem that developed after a couple months of use, the pan handle is becoming loose. The pan is able to shake side to side. For the price of the frypan these issues are minor, and probably expected. The screw can be changed out to possibly help the issue of the knob, or the screw can be glued in I guess. Either one would work for me. Even with these problems I'd still buy another one just because it's been easier to use when a 10"-12" pan was not required.

so I love this little pan and it's perfect in the fact that is come with a lid! yes everything is nonstick, but I always spray just a little in any of my nonstick pans just in case, everything I have make has slid right out! maybe some people need to learn how to cook correctly and it wouldn't cause things to stick. I would highly recommend this pan, I may even buy another!
