Book Description

The Journey of a Lifetime begins in Wynnewood.

After three years of friendship, adventures, dangers, and triumphs, Dove still wrestles with the ultimate question. Is I AM the God of her heart? While Philip
struggles with the direction of his own life, his friend’s secret threatens to divide more than friends. Who is Dove? What is Dove? And can Philip truly accept her when he discovers who is beneath the cloak she wears? The adventure continues beyond anything either of them could have imagined.
With Philip studying at Oxford, who will help Dove as she struggles with trusting I AM, and who will come to her rescue as she’s whisked away to the caves of the Sceadu in the middle of the night? Lord Morgan is torn as the news arrives that both of his young friends are in trouble. Can the Earl of Wynnewood come to the rescue in time?

Beneath the Cloak
is the final book in the trilogy of adventure
surrounding Philip and Dove of Wynnewood

About the Author

When not meandering through the fictional forests of Wynnewood, Chautona can be found in her little California desert bungalow with her family and planning her next foray into medieval fantasy. The mother of nine, grandmother of three, and wife of the world's greatest husband, Chautona considers herself blessed beyond measure. Chautona's primary genre is contemporary Christian women's fiction, but enjoyed this flight into children's fantasy and is eager to explore the stories of others in the village as she continues a new trilogy of the Annals of Wynnewood.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Satisfying Conclusion June 26, 2012
By Susieb
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
In Beneath the Cloak, the conclusion to the Annals of Wynnewood, Philip leaves to seek his education, but doesn't find what he expected. Meanwhile someone mysterious is looking for Dove. I enjoyed the ending of the book and series. I have read other series and have not been satisfied with the conclusion. This would be a good read for anyone 9 years old and up.

From the Mom: I appreciate this book because it is fantasy book, which my children like, but it has no sorcery or magic in it. There are Christian themes throughout the book that only add to the story and are not a distraction. I would recommend it to others and we have bought the series to give as gifts. Susan - Mom

5.0 out of 5 stars Unusual and delightful! September 8, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I tend to not like children's literature---it is often boring. Not so with this series! LOVE having a clean, well-written book of "juvenile fiction" that is anything BUT "juvenile"! Engaging characters and a satisfying conclusion go along with Chautona's trademark: a truly unique storyline. WELL worth the purchase price, and TOTALLY worth the time to read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bittersweet September 8, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Our family so enjoyed the first two books of the Annals of Wynnewood. We have found in other book series that the subsequent books are lacking; almost as if they were added on as an afterthought. This is not true for Beneath the Cloak. Mrs. Havig continues to keep the reader thoroughly entwined with the characters of Dove, Phillip and the others in Wynnewood. Beneath the Cloak adds an intensity that had my children groaning when I was done reading for the day. And as soon as I read the last sentence, they were all declaring themselves first to read it alone. Well done, Mrs. Havig, well done.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great ending July 4, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
The last of the Wynnewood series ties the other books up brilliantly. As you read through the first two there are all sorts of guesses over what Dove really is and here it is finally revealed (I guess right by the way LOL). Through out the whole series you see God's hand in the lives of the characters. The whole series is a great Christian historical fantasy fiction series to read aloud to the young ones in the family and a great read for the readers of all ages in the family.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful story July 18, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I was leary of this series as I don't normally enjoy what I thought would be fantasy. Reading all three books in it changed my feelings. I have spent all of my life believing that dragons and unicorns where mythical creatures, and she blended them easily even seamlessly with Christian beliefs in medieval times. Philip did a wonderful job explaining I Am that were I not already a Christian I feel this would have helped me on my journey.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this series! June 19, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I cannot believe people were so creative in their writing to be able to create a world with dragons and knights interwoven with a clear gospel message showing characters growth and an active real relationship with God. it was amazing. Clever, great character development, good plot and likable/relatable characters. I loved to watch the characters relationship develop and grow up as people. a most enjoyable read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't judge a book by its cover
It's about a girl who is accused of being a demon because she is different. It's also about how she comes to know the one true God.

I was drawn into the forest and could almost see the places in the story. Havig does a great job of placing you there.

More About the Author

When asked about writing, author Chautona Havig says, "Books. I love them- always have. From my earliest years, I spent most of my free time lost in a book, until one day I realized that I had stories in my heart and mind that I wanted to tell. Time passed, life, family, and work got in the way, and my dream of being a writer seemed to vanish into the desert winds.

Dreams are beautiful things, though; they never quite disappear. I began writing again, editing, writing, editing...more editing... and now I have over a hundred books in progress and a few dozen published. I write the stories of fictional people who have real problems, weaknesses, and triumphs. Through their stories, I try to share the Hope that is within me."

Chautona lives in a small, remote town in California's Mojave Desert with her husband and seven of her nine children. When not writing, she enjoys paper crafting, sewing, and the knowledge that someday she'll be able to retire from home education.
