Book Description

The Journey of a Lifetime begins in Wynnewood.

After three years of friendship, adventures, dangers, and triumphs, Dove still wrestles with the ultimate question. Is I AM the God of her heart? While Philip
struggles with the direction of his own life, his friend’s secret threatens to divide more than friends. Who is Dove? What is Dove? And can Philip truly accept her when he discovers who is beneath the cloak she wears? The adventure continues beyond anything either of them could have imagined.
With Philip studying at Oxford, who will help Dove as she struggles with trusting I AM, and who will come to her rescue as she’s whisked away to the caves of the Sceadu in the middle of the night? Lord Morgan is torn as the news arrives that both of his young friends are in trouble. Can the Earl of Wynnewood come to the rescue in time?

Beneath the Cloak
is the final book in the trilogy of adventure
surrounding Philip and Dove of Wynnewood

About the Author

When not meandering through the fictional forests of Wynnewood, Chautona can be found in her little California desert bungalow with her family and planning her next foray into medieval fantasy. The mother of nine, grandmother of three, and wife of the world's greatest husband, Chautona considers herself blessed beyond measure. Chautona's primary genre is contemporary Christian women's fiction, but enjoyed this flight into children's fantasy and is eager to explore the stories of others in the village as she continues a new trilogy of the Annals of Wynnewood.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unusual and delightful! September 8, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I tend to not like children's literature---it is often boring. Not so with this series! LOVE having a clean, well-written book of "juvenile fiction" that is anything BUT "juvenile"! Engaging characters and a satisfying conclusion go along with Chautona's trademark: a truly unique storyline. WELL worth the purchase price, and TOTALLY worth the time to read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bittersweet September 8, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Our family so enjoyed the first two books of the Annals of Wynnewood. We have found in other book series that the subsequent books are lacking; almost as if they were added on as an afterthought. This is not true for Beneath the Cloak. Mrs. Havig continues to keep the reader thoroughly entwined with the characters of Dove, Phillip and the others in Wynnewood. Beneath the Cloak adds an intensity that had my children groaning when I was done reading for the day. And as soon as I read the last sentence, they were all declaring themselves first to read it alone. Well done, Mrs. Havig, well done.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great ending July 4, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
The last of the Wynnewood series ties the other books up brilliantly. As you read through the first two there are all sorts of guesses over what Dove really is and here it is finally revealed (I guess right by the way LOL). Through out the whole series you see God's hand in the lives of the characters. The whole series is a great Christian historical fantasy fiction series to read aloud to the young ones in the family and a great read for the readers of all ages in the family.

I love how the story ended but I'm sad to have it end already! Truly a great story! I haven't found a book by Chautona yet that I don't like.

Full of adventure and suspense, love and friendship, devotion and excitement. Perfect ending to a great series! I am definitely the mushy ending type-loved it!

4.0 out of 5 stars good mystery
Enjoyed trying to figure out the hidden issues. Good story for young people to think about issues of mindless fear and prejudice against those who are different.

More About the Author

Chautona Havig began her love affair with words as a very young child. An early reader, she spent most of her childhood devouring books at the speed of a paper grocery bag full each week during summer vacation. Blessed with a vivid imagination, she often escaped into worlds of her own creation.

When asked about her first attempts at writing a novel, Chautona said, "The summer I turned thirteen, I wrote the most insipid, pietistic, self-righteous pile of wasted paper that anyone has ever attempted to put on paper. Looking back, I guess it was a good reminder of what I don't want to write! Twenty years later, in 2001, I suddenly felt compelled to write, and I haven't stopped since."

With over a hundred books in various stages of editing or completion and three in print, Chautona doesn't see herself ever running out of ideas.

Chautona strives to write about average people with genuine problems, and how they strive to live their lives to the glory of God. Some of their methods are unconventional and their situations aren't pristine and free from the taint of sin in this world, but all care more about serving the Lord and each other than obtaining some Utopian ideal.
