THis album is exactly what the tag line states: "Sensual Music for Spiritual Lovers". I cannot count how many times I have purchased this album because I play it so much that I want multiple copies!

Trying oh, so very hard to be what it claims to be, and failing utterly. It's synth- and reverb-heavy, with muddy, off-tempo vocals and overwrought and/or distracting invocations. Sensuality requires subtlety, and the sacred needs heart - it has none of either. I give it two stars for the nice tabla work; otherwise, this is uninspired, poorly produced house music hiding...

THis album is exactly what the tag line states: "Sensual Music for Spiritual Lovers". I cannot count how many times I have purchased this album because I play it so much that I want multiple copies!

This is music to meditate by or to set up a romantic and seductive evening by. The vocals are nothing short of mesmerizing and the lyrics tell the tales of goddesses. The invocations can be used for meditations and goddess rituals, while songs like "Beneathe the Veil" and "Veil of Inanna" are to play in the background of romantic interludes. The drum beats are too slow to bellydance to, so if you are looking for a bellydancing album, check out their other album, "Dancers of Twilight", which has a much stronger beat. This is more an album to listen to by the fireplace or candle light.

5.0 out of 5 stars This music gets in your blood & makes you want to dance!, February 19, 1999
This review is from: Beneath the Veil (Audio CD)
From the varied & intricate drumming to the Eastern tinged melodies, this album is amazing, especially for the group's first! Some songs have seductive rhythms such as "She Beckons". Calling down the Goddesses in "Invocation" gives me chills, & there are tranquil new age pieces for meditation. I also like the Song of Inanna, a tale from legend about a Goddess & her chosen consort. I LOVE this album!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have!, February 13, 2000
This review is from: Beneath the Veil (Audio CD)
This music is contemporary, sacred, and jazzy all at the same time. It has haunting vocals, and rhythms that are both energizing and relaxing. It's very enjoyable to listen to, again and again.

When I listen to this, I feel peaceful, centered, and inspired.

If you like music from artists like Single Gun Theory or Enigma, you'll like this, although there is no comparison.

If you are inspired by the Goddess, then your music collection is not complete without this wonderful CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hypnotic, Relaxing, Sensual!, March 15, 2003

This CD can definitely take away my depression and put me into a wonderfully relaxed and happy mood. I'll wear it out before I ever get tired of it. I don't think it is really intended for those seeking Belly Dancing music. It is more, New Age/Ambient/Relaxation/Mood music. I wasn't looking for that anyway.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mystical, mesmerizing, inspiring!, February 11, 2000
This review is from: Beneath the Veil (Audio CD)
When I want to touch the spirit of the Goddess, I put this beautiful CD on, and am transported. This is wonderful music for dance, ritual, magical work, creating sacred space, raising energy, deepening, opening -- celebrating! The pulse of the drums and the passionate devotion of the lyrics weave a spell that is truly unique. I highly recommend Zingaia!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely entrancing..., May 15, 2004

This review is from: Beneath the Veil (Audio CD)
'Beneath the Veil' is absolutely entrancing... The title track 'Beneath the Veil' is my fave track on it... Zingaia are also inspirational for me in my own cosmik trakks that i've been collaborating on/making over these past few years...

I actually bought it on a whim, and I play it pretty regularly for inspiration...

I still want to get 'Dancers of Twilight', which I'm sure is equally as enchanting - Savannah Skye aka Savvy...

5.0 out of 5 stars There's Magick Beneath the Veil, December 26, 2002

This CD is nothing less than spectacluar ! I was first turned on to it at a Tantric intensive workshop and was transported by the lush and soul-stirring music and sensuously erotic vocals that beckon the listener to let go and enter the realms "Beneath the Veil". My favorite tracks are Veil of Inanna and Beneath the Veil. This music is a sacred offering, a blessing and a prayer that unlocks the heart and allows you melt into the arms of the Goddess. It's perfect for a romantic candlelit evening of lovemaking or just letting your body move in the radiant, impassioned embrace of the music. All I can say is give me more Zingaia ! Get this CD. You'll love it !

5.0 out of 5 stars Music for the mind, Sound for the soul, October 3, 2004

A blend of Enigma and William Orbit with a dash of Pure Moods, it carries me along on a soothing ride of musical introspection. If you enjoy music of the world that creates a sense of mystery this sound will be pleasing to your ears. Beneath the Veil has a lovely joy to it that has a rhythm you will want to hear again and again.

It's not a new press - 1997 - but the music sounds new each time I hear it. It is seductive and wonderful for intimate moods. I have shared this music with several friends who each enjoy it as much as I do, and friends are the toughest critics.

For when you do, you'll find a place of mystery, passion and magick!

I love the spoken words to the song where She says, "I am Goddess, I am love." And so She is!

I really love this CD and will buy every one of their CD's. It's wonderful for trance/dance meditations and great for invoking the Goddess.
