From School Library Journal
Grade 3-5 - Each title is arranged in chronological chapters, the last of which is devoted to the man's legacy. The texts, while informative, are a bit choppy as the result of the controlled vocabulary. Each figure's merits are portrayed, along with his vanities and less admirable traits. The first page of each chapter contains a dark-colored sidebar that serves as a time line and an outline for the chapter. Full-color and black-and-white photos, reproductions, and maps vary from vintage pen-and-ink drawings to oils and present-day color photography. Highlighted information is printed in boxes whose background resembles a coarse fabric. The combination of font and texture is difficult to read. While somewhat limited in their scope, these titles are adequate additions for collections needing introductory biographies.
