3.0 out of 5 stars Very heavy cream concealer
This is a very heavy cream concealer that I found a bit hard to apply. And it gathered in the creases by end of day. You might have to mix light and medium, or medium and dark to get your best shade, as these are a bit extreme. On the whole, I prefer a wand or tube concealer that is less thick and waxy.

I have, unfortunatley, inherited a family trait of significantly dark circles under the eyes that are severe in nature, and a little scary looking. I HAVE TO USE CONCEALER to venture out in public and not be mistaken for the undead. Seriously, I have invoked true concern about the state of my health. I have been advised to stopped living life in the fast lane from acquaintances who are not familiar with my familial curse. I have been to skin care specialist and physicians who confirm I have not much hope to deal with this problem other than through the use of cosmetics. I have found products that have worked fairly well, but after a few hours, do little more than give me beige tinted dark cicles. UNTIL NOW!!! Oh my goodness, this stuff goes on smoothly, covers like you would not believe...and lasts...really lasts for hours, and hours...all day, all party, all outdoor activity what ever I have done with makeup on...it has maintained its effect. People have been telling me how refreshed, and bright my appearance is. Yes, this stuff is a bit expensive for a concealer, but it is a good sized compact. Also, it does not take much to do the trick. I am humbled by the awesomeness of this makeup. Did I tell you how much I like this stuff?

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect cover-up, a little goes a long way, August 4, 2005
This review is from: Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing (Misc.)
I have found Benefit's "Boi-ing" to be one of the better concealers on the market today. It may seem a little pricey but a little goes a long way. I bought mine about two years ago, with the "Lemon-Aid" and haven't hit bottom yet. I still have plenty and what is there is still fresh smelling and soft. I think if you try to use too much, you will end up with creases and clumps. Benefit's products go a long way and less is always more. The medium color was a perfect match and I find the coverage to be excellent.
I give Benefit Cosmetics high marks for value and quality. You shouldn't hesitate, they're great!

5.0 out of 5 stars A miracle in a little pot..., October 9, 2006
This review is from: Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing (Misc.)
I have had the most horrible dark circles all my life. And I'm talking about "did someone just punch you!?" dark circles. I've tried hundreds of products promising to work. But Boi-ing is the only one to ever make them just completely disappear! The product is thick, so I suggest lightly running your middle or ring finger in a little circle over the product first, as opposed to just swiping some off. It will make the product more moist, easier to apply. And a little goes a LONG way. If you over-apply it will crease. And also remember that Benefit tags this as an "industrial strength under eye concealer." And that it is, but it wasn't intended as an all-over face concealer.

5.0 out of 5 stars pretty much the best there is for under-eye circles, January 13, 2008
By
This review is from: Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing (Misc.)
I use this product for my under-eye circles only. I give it five stars, even though I don't use it alone, simply because my circles are THAT bad. I have to first use a totally yellow-tone corrector, THEN conceal on top of that. The reason I have to award this product a perfect rating, however, is that nothing comes close to the wear you are afforded by this. It really lasts, and it really blends into the yellow-based corrector I use.

I would suggest, however, that EVERYONE using this product under their eyes, whether you use a corrector or not, use some type of eye moisturizer. I use Clinique All About Eyes in the original, gel-like formulation. Apply this, let it completely sink in, and then go to town. Otherwise, I did find that I got some creasing. Also, like the other reviewers have said: you've got to pat it in ladies, no rubbing. pat pat pat like theres no tomorrow, even if you pat a little off. it's better to err on the side of caution because this stuff is mega concentrated.

All this being said, I do have acne-prone skin. As in, if even a drop of oil is detected anywhere besides my immediate orbital area, my skin looks hideous. Therefore, I can't suggest using this to hide acne, or imperfections outside the eye area, because people with skin that is reactive as mine are probably going to have troubles.

5.0 out of 5 stars A miracle in a squat pot!, May 1, 2006
This review is from: Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing (Misc.)
I have never had much luck with concealers, trying everything from really high-end products to mid-range to cheap products and nothing gave me full but light coverage. At last my search is over--this is the perfect concealer! Not only does it take away both blueness (under my eyes) and redness (around my nose), but it somehow also manages to take 10 years off my face at the same time! Just a few light dabs--fingers are better than brushes--and I'm on my way. The pot is a marvellous shape for slipping into my bag for quick touch-ups during the day as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars View my before and after photos in the Customer Pictures section., May 21, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing (Misc.)
So I bravely posted a disgusting before and after series of photos to the customer photo section. Take a look at them, and note the differences to help you make your decision. It's not perfect stuff, but it's pretty darn impressive in my opinion. Much better than other concealers. I'm pretty excited about it, since I am SOOOO light skinned that most concealers are way too yellowy for me. Light Boi-ing is still almost a bit too dark for me even still, but I think if I set it with my powder after using the Boi-ing then it will be undetectable. It's probably perfect for normal people who don't have translucent skin like me. I would give this bit of advice.... pat pat pat. Pat the compact with your fingers (don't rub it!), and then pat it onto your face. Do NOT rub it on or it does weird stuff like show all your pores and little hairs. After you've patted once, pat the compact again and repeat til you get the coverage you want. Too much will make it look a bit cakey. I still haven't found a way to make it look less cakey on my raised flared-up pimples, but I have noticed that too much equals a disaster. Oh, and if you think you aren't getting any on your finger when you tap the compact with your finger instead of rubbing it... try wiping that same finger on a baby wipe and see what you find. It's LOADED with color. So ladies, PAT, don't rub!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars great!, January 30, 2007
This review is from: Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing (Misc.)
I was skeptical about this concealer, but I decided to give it a try (along with several other cosmetics) by purchasing "The Realness of Concealness" set. I had heard much about the Benefit Cosmetics line, and I wanted to see what all the hype was about. This concealer made my dark circles dissapear, and it had a lightweight feel that didn't crease. I have very bad dark circles and have tried many other products (maybelline age rewind undereye concealer being the most successful.) None of them compare to this product. The medium color was perfect for my fair to medium skin. I'm completely satisfied, and I would definitely buy it again!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Out There!, January 19, 2007
This review is from: Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing (Misc.)
I have had dark circles and veins under my eyes since I was born. Completely hereditary. They are emphasized even more when I don't have any sleep. Another thing that emphasizes my dark circles are the creases under my eyes.

I use Benefit Lemon-Aid as well as Benefit Boi-ing concealer together under my eyes. Apply as little as possible. The Lemon-Aid is a yellow tint, which should neutralize the blue/purple/dark discoloration under the eyes, while the Boi-ing concealer blends in naturally to my skin color.

The consistency of this concealer is absolutely amazing! It feels like a cream, goes on like a cream, but feels soft after applying it. Just swirl your finger over the product to warm it up. Once again, you only need a small amount. "A little goes a long way!"

All other concealers out there that I have used from Maybelline, Loreal, Bare Essentuals, Bobbi Brown, even Shu Uemura have felt cakey and emphasized the creases around my eyes and would not cover up the dark circles. The next best thing that I enjoyed was Shu Uemura Pro Concealer, which can be on the expensive side.

Trust me, this is the best concealer you can get out there!

I honestly look like I have two black eyes when I wake up in the morning, and I've tried just about every product known to man to cover up those dark circles. This is by far one of the best products I've ever found. A little bit goes a long way, and it helps to pat some powder on under your eyes after application to prevent creasing, but it REALLY does cover up even the darkest circles. I definitely recommend this.
