5.0 out of 5 stars Long lasting, gives a very natural look
I am in love with Benefit's Lemon-Aid. I have used it for about two years now and I still have half the product left. Both my daughter and I have shared it so I find it to be an incredible value for the money. I don't find it too thick or sticky as others have suggested, this might have something to do with where it's stored. Mine is perfectly creamy and just glides...

3.0 out of 5 stars Terrific--unless you have sensitive skin
I tried on Lemon-Aid at Sephora. I have dark circles (including upper eyelids) that worsened through my thirties. Lemon-Aid completely covered the discoloration without looking like I had concealer on my skin. I'm very skeptical about claims of "miraculous" beauty products, but on my skin it really was that good. I looked years younger and more rested...

I am in love with Benefit's Lemon-Aid. I have used it for about two years now and I still have half the product left. Both my daughter and I have shared it so I find it to be an incredible value for the money. I don't find it too thick or sticky as others have suggested, this might have something to do with where it's stored. Mine is perfectly creamy and just glides on my lids without any effort at all. It is an eye brightener, not a shadow or colorant.
I have pretty much stopped wearing eyeshadow and use the Lemon-Aid almost exclusively. It leaves you with a very natural look and I find it to be an exceptional product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for gals with glasses!, May 5, 2004

This is a great product to use if you want something simple to make your eyes stand out. It doesn't look yellow when you put it on, just makes your lids look brighter. I wear glasses and generally just want something to make my eyes pop a little - I have little patience for or skill with most eye products, so this one is great. Just a few pats on my lids and I'm ready to go. Also, the contrast makes lashes look darker even without mascara.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for light skin with yellow undertones, December 23, 2006

I have fairly light skin, with splotchy redness and yellow undertones and dark circles under my eyes. I tried on both Lemon Aid and Bo-ing Lite, and the Lemon Aid did a much better job of brightening up underneath my eyes than the Bo-ing Lite. It makes me look refreshed and bright-eyed. I only have to use the lightest touch of this for it to work, and it goes on very smoothly without creases or wrinkles developing, so it's definitely worth the money.

This product works.

It's bright yellow! It will hide, minimize, and camoflouge those dark undereye circles for HOURS. It is a thick product, but goes on silky soft after you have blended it in.

For those ladies that complain that it drags your undereye area, learn how to use the product.

1. Moisturize your eye area well. Use any specifically made undereye moisturizer (Eyecon also by benefit works well in conjunction with this product, for cheaper, hit up Walmart in a dazzling array of undereye moisturizers well within budget target.)

2. If it's too thick, or doesn't spread, STICK IT IN YOUR POCKET. The body heat will warm up the product and make it apply smoother. You wouldn't expect cold butter to spread, don't expect your cream based eye makeup to either.

3. Use a concealer brush, not just your fingers. The concealer brush helps as you can work it into the target area of the shadow without having to spread it all over the eye area. If you spread it all over, it gives you the "reverse raccoon" effect and doesn't quite camoflouge.

4. Set it! Set the concealer with a light powder or setting powder. I use Bare Escentuals products, so I just set it with my foundation, giving it a more natural look.

Best product yet, I'll never go back to drugstore concealers again!

3.0 out of 5 stars Terrific--unless you have sensitive skin, February 6, 2006

I tried on Lemon-Aid at Sephora. I have dark circles (including upper eyelids) that worsened through my thirties. Lemon-Aid completely covered the discoloration without looking like I had concealer on my skin. I'm very skeptical about claims of "miraculous" beauty products, but on my skin it really was that good. I looked years younger and more rested.

About the color: Although the product is pale yellow in the package, the color almost disappears on light skin. It is much lighter than any other yellow "correcting" concealers I've seen, with none of the orange overtones. You do need to pat it onto the skin--it won't look right if you try to spread or rub it on like a cream. Because a little goes a long way, it looks like there's enough product in the package to last at least 6 months of daily use. At about 10 cents a day, I'd consider this a bargain.

I was delighted with the immediate results. However...by the time I was able to take it off (several hours later), the skin around my eyes was so irritated that it looked like I had a bad sunburn. The next morning my eyes were almost swollen shut. It was several days before all of the swelling and redness disappeared. This was bad enough for me to knock a couple stars off what is otherwise a great product. It's possible that my reaction was to the fragrance, which I found to be an unpleasantly heavy and sweet "baby powder" scent.

The moral of the story is to try on the product before you buy, or make sure you can return the product if necessary. Unfortunately, if you have allergies or sensitive eyes, I recommend you avoid Lemon-Aid.

I adore this product. It's great alone when you are short on time and need something pretty and simple to brighten up your eyes... it's also perfect as a shadow base on your eyelids, under concealer and powder. That's what I do most of the time, and my eyeshadow does NOT move all day long. I use this product with Benefit Eye Bright and Bo-oing! and my eyes look fantastic all day long. (I swear I don't work for Benefit... I just love the line!)

5.0 out of 5 stars ALLERGY SHINER CURE!!, June 2, 2004
This review is from: Benefit Cosmetics Lemon-Aid (Misc.)
ALLERGY SHINER, ALLERGY SHINER,ALLERGY SHINER. You are either screaming in despair or have no clue what I'm refering to. Benefit's Lemonaid was made to cover up allergy shiners (that red discoloration all around your eyes due to hay fever). Best product out there. Just a little goes a long way, pat some on, leave it for 2-3 minutes then just blend it a bit at the crease right before you apply your eye makeup. Voila!

4.0 out of 5 stars works great- high price, August 11, 2006
This review is from: Benefit Cosmetics Lemon-Aid (Misc.)
This item works well for eyelids (not undereye)if you are pale to medium complected (only). It is also useful around broken capillaries esp. under /around the nose; a little bit goes a long way; be sure to apply it in ample light so you don't over do it.And it lasts a long time; that being said,it's up to the you if the price is worth it; you can achieve just as much with NYC stick concealers w/ vit. E and they can be used over the entire face.(for less than 2 dollars). The yellow tint of lemon-aid (is not too yellow which is great) does work slightly better for areas stated above; but not dramatically better. If you do want to look flawless and take the extra time to use different products for different areas of skin on your face(and you have 18 dollars) I do recommend the purchase of this product. Alot goes a long way b/c it is formulated specifically for your eye lid; which is great for me b/c I am pale with really dark/tan eyelids; it really evens out my face. Before I used The NYC for all cover up areas b/c that product has full coverage and is very versitale. But the lemon aid does add an extra umph- albeit only noticed by me- but that's what counts right?
Lastly, and I can't stress this enough: both products are non-comedogenic, go on smooth (even better if lotion is applied first),and control oil/shine to an extent. This is wonderful if you worry about blackheads or have sensitive skin. You won't break out from using this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Five stars, BUT, April 6, 2006
By
This review is from: Benefit Cosmetics Lemon-Aid (Misc.)
I have been using this stuff for a few weeks, and I love it. I use it on the dark circles under my eyes, which aren't horrible, but have been getting worse over the years. It's great, and it works a lot better than other yellow concealers of this type that I have tried. BUT, you have to be careful not to overdo it, otherwise you will look straight out of 1973, with VERY obvious white-ish circles around your eyes. The point is to look natural. The only thing worse than dark discoloration around the eyes is white stuff that is obviously there to mask the dark stuff. I recommend moisturizing your skin, then applying this lightly, with gentle pats, then using your foundation over it. Perfect results! I can't believe how much more refreshed and rested I look after applying this! Also, for those who found the product very hard and difficult to apply, just rub your finger quickly in a circular motion on the surface of the product. The heat from the friction will soften it up and give you just the right amount on your fingertip. Moisturizing before applying helps the product glide on without any rubbing. I can't stress this enough.
