4.0 out of 5 stars amazing
I tried this at Sephora and was a bit hesitant to buy the full sized Benetint because it's a tad expensive. I think the pocket size is great, esecially if you're not sure you'd ever use up a whole bottle, and more portable.

I am totally addicted. The color is very natural (I have fairly pale skin). I haven't had any trouble blending - do one cheek at a time...

3.0 out of 5 stars Lovely color...
I bought this product after seeing rave reviews in all the latest magazines. So far, I have enjoyed using the tint and gloss, but I have to be honest... it smells a little funny. I think it must be the rosewater, but the tint (which, if you've never used a tint before, is a liquid. Not a gel, but a liquid, so be careful!) sort of smells like my great aunt. But the soft...

I think it must be the rosewater, but the tint (which, if you've never used a tint before, is a liquid. Not a gel, but a liquid, so be careful!) sort of smells like my great aunt. But the soft rose color is worth it, and the tint looks very natural on my Irish cheeks! Also, the gloss isn't fabulous (it's sticky), so I'd recommend buying the Benetint (not the pocketpal) and layering it with your favorite gloss!

I am totally addicted. The color is very natural (I have fairly pale skin). I haven't had any trouble blending - do one cheek at a time and start out with just a little to make sure not to overdo it. The same goes for use as a lip stain - obviously more produces a darker effect.

I agree that it is a little drying as a lip stain, but the gloss corrects that problem.

Personally, I love the rose scent. I think it's very feminine and not really unexpected, given Benefit's retro theme.

I'm not super excited about the quaternium-15 (which is a formaldehyde releasing preservative), but until someone comes out with something better (which may not be possible!) I guess I'll stick with this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Benetint Pocket Pal, March 9, 2006
By
I bought this item in a Sephora when it came out and I have not been disappointed with it. Its great in that its smaller and easier to carry around in my purse rather than the larger Benetint bottle. It smells faintly of roses and it gives a beautiful sheer reddish/rose color to my lips. The gloss it comes with is ok, not the best gloss I've ever used. But its very convenient to have both items in one without having to remember to bring both of them and then fishing around for it in your purse. I will buy this item again. Just be careful you have the tint part of the wand upright when you open it or you will spill it since it is a liquid.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for on the go!, April 29, 2006
I was very upset when I lost my full-sized Benetint and finally decided to purchase the Pocket Pal after searching in vain for months. It has the original Benetint paired with a clear gloss on the other end. The gloss isn't of the highest quality - it's a bit sticky and I can barely tell that I have it on. However, the design of the Pocket Pal was so easy for on the go that I had to give this a five-star rating. Now I can easily achieve a berry-stained smile wherever I go

3.0 out of 5 stars 3/5, July 3, 2006

I give this a 3/5 only because the gloss is terrible. I would get more use out of this is I had purchased the full-size Benetint and used my own lipgloss. The tint side is small and while you don't need much the gloss part was a waste of money. This product is great if you have limited space but if you don't, splurge and get the full-size.

3.0 out of 5 stars Better for young lips, October 11, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Benefit Cosmetics Pocket Pal (Misc.)
I have been using lip stain rather than lipstick for the last 5 or 6 years because of its staying power. My job requires a great deal of talking, and normal lipstick is history before 10 in the morning. I used Sephora's lip stain and loved it until it was discontinued. I then found Stila's lip rouge, a great stain delivered in the form of a felt-tipped pen. Now that's hard to find, too, and no longer available on Amazon. (It was SUPERB.) I ordered Benetint lip stain because it looked like a great container - easy to carry and reapply after lunch. I'm a little disappointed, but I don't think it's the product itself as much as its suitability for my age group that I'm dissatisfied with. The stain itself is a bit thinner than the others I've used, and while this makes for a great cheek stain and flexibility in the amount of color you apply to both cheeks and lips, it doesn't work well on my over-50 mouth. I think that you'll like it if you're relatively young, but if you're older and have any "feathering" problems because of fine lines around your lips, you might not like this product.

3.0 out of 5 stars Love the tint -- hate the gloss, June 14, 2007
Benetint is awesome -- I wish I hadn't cheaped out and bought the full size bottle instead. The container is super handy, but the gloss was pretty much worthless. After no more than 2 weeks use, the gloss took on a horrible smell, and I never used it again, but I kept using the benetint until it was empty.

My recommendation? Get the regular Benetint and layer it under any of your favorite glosses!

3.0 out of 5 stars Its great!, January 17, 2007
I love Benetint. I had the full sized one and i finished that one off. The color is great and it can really compliment any shade of skin. I have to agree with some of the other comments about the gloss, it's not too good. I just got it for Christmas and 15 days later it started to smell weird. Better to buy the big one and get more of the good stuff.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great natural-looking flush for lips and cheeks., January 13, 2008
Somewhat candy-pinkish but somehow works well on most people. Applied artfully this makes you look like a healthy outdoor enthusiast. The pocket size is handy. Good day look and stays on well even while eating though you may need another coat of the gloss.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice!, April 29, 2009

As a stain, this is great because you can apply it a few times to add more color, or just lightly for a hint of color. The gloss isn't sticky, it's a great product!
