4.0 out of 5 stars For your Sunday morning face
The product description is pretty promising, right? Well, how can a girl turn it down? So I slapped down my $27 and gave it a whirl.

Results: I really did look brighter and happier after using, and didn't feel like I had to wear any foundation/powder. Everything just looked smoother. This formula is super light and soaks right in, so there was no greasey...

2.0 out of 5 stars Did nothing for me!
I was browsing the Benefit counter at a shopping mall sans makeup and the Benefit lady recommended me to try this to brighten up my complexion. She put the product on one of my hands and asked me to compare both my hands. I could see a difference. I purchased it but when I tried it on my face, I couldn't see any difference. I'll stick with Sila's illuminating tinted...

The product description is pretty promising, right? Well, how can a girl turn it down? So I slapped down my $27 and gave it a whirl.

Results: I really did look brighter and happier after using, and didn't feel like I had to wear any foundation/powder. Everything just looked smoother. This formula is super light and soaks right in, so there was no greasey yuck. It also lasted well throughout the day and I felt kept my tzone from shining up. I just felt pretty and au-natural, very "What? I just woke up this way..."

The one drawback is that the tube is a bit small for the price, and the schmancy dispensing mechanism seems to dispense too much product at one time, thus wasting your precious valuables.

This is what I like to put on on Sunday's, cause it just feels so good and looks so clean and un-makeupy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this stuff!, May 20, 2008

I don't like the look of a lot of foundation and like the feel even less. I tried That Gal at the Benefit counter at the mall and fell for it. It's very sheer and lightly pink. I use it all over my face but a little really goes a long way. It does smooth over pores and fine lines without being cakey. Oddly, whenever I first put it on it seems like nothing happened at all. But after a few moments I notice that my skin looks very even and does have a nice glow and light sheen without looking glossy. I use it over Oil of Olay spf 15 moisturizer, then apply Benetint to my cheeks followed by a light covering of Benefit's Dr. Feelgood. I'm getting married soon so I've tried a lot of cosmetics lately trying to find the right one for my wedding day to make me look perky yet natural. This is it. I hope they never discontinue the product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Give it time., March 19, 2008

I did not think this product worked the first 4 to 5 times I used it. I did not think it made a difference in the application of foundation or by itself. With that said, I didn't like the thought of spending all that money and then not using a product so I continued to use it. It took about a week or two, but then when I put my foundation on without it on accident one day, I realized what a difference this product makes for me. I have EXTREMELY dry skin and while this product is not 100%, it does smooth my skin out and brighten it. I should also mention that I am very fair skinned. Overall, I have found the product to be useful and I have continued to buy it.

If you hate cake-y foundation but want a little coverage and brightness, you will like this. Does not clog my pores, doesn't rub off on collars, and evens out skin tone. Most people think I don't wear make up. Doesn't cake in lines (yikes!), either.

5.0 out of 5 stars perfect, May 31, 2009

i love this primer, it seems to be the only primer that actually does not make me break out, leaves my skin smooth, and makes my makeup look flawless. this makes my makeup stay on all day also. the only thing that i do not like is that you only get .37 oz which is little product. i want to buy this again, but im not sure, i might take a look at another primer just because of the price. but this is a fantastic primer! i love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE It!!, May 22, 2010

At last a product that actually does what it's advertised to do! I first tried "That Gal" in the Benefit To Go Beauty Bestsellers, & ever since I've been hooked! It goes on smoothly, is light & non-greasy, and as a little bonus it has a nice, light scent. Before trying it, my skin always looked dull & sallow so I would rarely leave the house without foundation, but That Gal really does brighten my complexion enough that I now often wear just the primer. I also have sensitive skin, but this hasn't given me any problems as far as irritation or breakouts. I've also tried Smashbox Photo Finish primer, which feels good going on but really did nothing to brighten my face.

The only downside is the cost, but it's just one of those things I choose to splurge on. I've found the most economical way to "stock up" is to buy in little kits when available, because the "full size" hard tube by itself is only 0.37oz for ~$28, & in kits such as the "Benefit To Go Bestsellers"(a GREAT deal @only $10!) or "Confessions of a Concealaholic" (~$36) you get a 0.25oz tube, along with minis of other products.

This is by far the best primer I have ever used. It makes my skin look and feel wonderful. It gives it a healthy pink glow. My makeup goes on so much better when I apply the primer first. To me, "That Gal" is a makeup must.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pink ... URGH!, June 12, 2010
By
I received this face primer in a kit. Unfortunately, it's pink ... yes, pink. If you have redness, it only makes it worse, requiring application of more primer, foundation, or both. It only primes your face for more product than necessary. URGH!

1.0 out of 5 stars doesn't do much; disappointed, July 9, 2010

I love Benefit's Boing, and I needed something between a primer and a tinted moisturizer, so I thought this would fit the bill. The color is pretty, but disappears when you put it on, leaving no coverage or healthy glow. And it feels greasy and smells weird. Under makeup, it's OK, but no better than any other primer.
Maybe it works better on younger skin (I'm 38). I'm using a tinted moisturizer now and my skin looks much better without any makeup.
