Book Description

0966098811 978-0966098815 October 29, 2007 3nd Rev.
This book explains how marijuana works completely naturally and safely in the body to benefit the mind and sometimes the soul. It is a thoroughly scientific yet easy to understand description of the wonders of this ancient healing plant which is appropriately employed today as medicine, for recreation, and sacramentally. The entire treatise is from the point of view of Eastern Philosophy and Holistic Medicine. Documentation of the effects of marijuana is abundant and this author offers no apology for her thoroughly logical and loving treatment of this controversial subject.

More About the Author

I look back over the past forty years and cannot believe where marijuana has led me. I was always rebellious and wanted everything to be fair. When I was thirty, with already a divorce and two children, I discovered the benefits of marijuana. I couldn't explain them at that time although I spent lots of hours trying to understand how a simple plant could make me feel so much better - in every way. I was kinder, smarter, more limber, more compassionate and since I gave up alcohol and took to marijuana - those horrible migraines were gone! My son was six and had epilepsy and no medicine helped him. There was no internet then, so my husband and I had to search and drive for some information on alternative help. Somewhere, in some gloriously fated book - it said marijuana could help my child. Wow!! that was in the early 70's. No one even said the word "marijuana" out loud. That little rebellious streak that wanted everything fair must have taken me over - or not. As I remember it - it was so very natural to share with my son - even if he was just six. It took time, I studied Yoga diligently - and learned about how this wondrous plant benefits us so easily - and how it cured my son - helped my soul, my husband, our understanding. It also sent us to jail .. a whole other story! but mostly it gave me a deep abiding feeling of validity. I am indebted to marijuana for teaching me to be brave which is very necessary if you stand up for fairness.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book backed up by fact and action., June 27, 1998

I thought I knew a lot about marijuana until I read this book. Joan Bello has not only written an excellent book, she is an active advocate.

She is an in-take processor for a class action law suit against the Federal Government endorsing the medical use of marijuana.

I have Glaucoma, and have been legally blind since 1993. I have had bad reactions to traditional medications. Marijuana may be able to help me save my remaining vision.

This book has been well researched and documented. Joan Bello and the other contributors to the book really care about people.

When is this country going to wake up. Are prisons are overflowing. We are letting out violent crimminals on the streets years early to make room for non violent drug offenders.

I would like to thank joan and the attorneys behind the class action law suit. It is time to stand up and be counted.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book, March 31, 1999
This book tells the truth. The author was sentenced to 12 years in prison for her beliefs -- right here in Amerika (I wish that I had 1/3 the courage of this person). In her book, she tells how marijuana is a life saving plant and explains its actions on the human being in terms of physical, Psychological and spiritual dimensions. In her writings she explains how the medical dangers of marijuana are basicaly non-existant and that the spiritual aspects are what terrorize the the government(how true). Marijuana will become the wonder drug of the new millennium.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wish this book was available 20 years ago, December 17, 1999

Joan Bello adresses feelings I have always had but I was not sure why. Now it makes a lot more sense. One big bonus in reading this book was I now try to pay a lot more attention to my inner self when I am in this higher state of consciousness as opposed to watching TV or something mundane like that. I try to expose myself to more stimulations than I use to. One other thing that I have noticed is I can really feel the depressing nature of alcohol way more than I use to. I have always had the feeling but I did not pay much attention to it. Now I find it really easy to tune into and it turns me off. This book is very interesting, a touch difficult to read in parts but in the end it improves your awareness of yourself and of this little beautiful plant that I have embraced for most of my life.
