Turkish Delight,
By Amaranth "music fan" (Northern California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Beni Beni (MP3 Download)
"Beni Beni" is the dynamic opening of Niyaz's sophomore album "Nine Heavens." It's a rhythmic chant, with electrifying drumming. While the song is an invocation of God during times of tribulation, it's got an irresistible beat. It's longer than an ordinary pop song, clocking in at nearly five minutes. It's quite mesmerizing. Listening to it,one can imagine whirling dervishes in Istanbul. Its driving rhythm propels it forward. It's Turkish trance music at its best. With Azam Ali's celestial singing, this sounds perfect for a soundtrack (her voice was featured in the soundtracks of "300" and "Children of Dune") The song whirls like a desert sandstorm. "Beni Beni" draws you in.
