Roni Benise (pronounced Buh-nes-say) is one of the best performers I have ever seen! According to Wikipedia, he is a "self taught and self described 'Nouveau Spanish Flamenco Guitarist'." Uhhhhh....Self-taught?! You have got to be kidding me! Yes. This is an interesting fact--considering he is a virtuoso of the Spanish guitar--not to mention a superb artist! No doubt. He is an incredibly gifted musician.

Contrary to another reviewer's opinion, I don't think "Benise: Nights of Fire" is a tacky Las Vegas style production. This is a combination of theater and dance, and the costumes represent the extravagant musical style, and of course the rich and vibrant culture of both the Spanish and Afro-Brazilian people. Again, there IS musical substance in this show. The music itself is awe-inspiring, with the romance and exhilarating melodies of Spanish Flamenco, Cuban Salsa, Brazilian Samba, and Benise's own creation: ROCKMENCO! (The unique fusion of Flamenco music and rock).

As a student of the classical guitar, I admire Benise's skill and musicality. (He is right up there with Christopher Parkening--my favorite guitarists of all-time!). He is a mesmerizing performer and an extraordinary showman. As Benise said: "Music. Love. Life." are universal qualities observed in all man. If you enjoy the celebration of Life, Love, and Music, then I highly recommend this DVD to you!

Roni Benise invites his audience and viewers on a very romantic journey with his Spanish Guitar, talented band and performers.

The opening scene lets the audience and viewer know Roni's passion for the guitar at a young age.

Accompanied by beautiful dancers and fantastic choreography, Roni's dream is brought to life.

From the hot "Desperado" number to the literally "swept off your feet" performance of Montserrat," Mr. Benise keeps the audience captivated and wanting more.

"Salsa, Salsa" results in a standing ovation. This is one fantastic Cuban number.

A lot of hard work was put into this show proving Roni Benise knows how to entertain his audience with romance, passion and energy.

This DVD is a definite keepsake to treasure forever and makes a fantastic gift.

Highly recommended!!!!

I agree that guitar is not live at times. But try moving around the stage and play the guitar at the same time than you will understand. The show is fantastic!

Benise Nights of Fire DVD is a souvenir I new I had to have after attending the live performance. I had disc surgery just 5 weeks prior to the show but after catching the PBS special there was no way I would have missed it. The intensity of emotion that comes from this music is indiscribable. Dont miss out. I would highly recommend this DVD.

This was my first Benise purchase. I was not familiar with him but kept catching his songs on my Sirius radio. This DVD is beautiful. The dancing and showmanship is extraordinary. I have watched it over and over again. Benise is Yanni with a guitar.

The music of Benise is a great combination of rock and latin music with intense guitar, violin and drums. I love the band and the dancing and theatrics of the show make it a dynamic experience. What a wonderful find!

Do not miss this show. The mixture of sounds that come together in this show make a unique sound unheard of anywere else. The musicians and dancers are superb and the production value is magnificent.

I am watching this on HDTV right now, being the first time I ever heard of Benise. I was entranced by the music from the first note, but immediately noticed something just didn't look right: the music I was hearing was not the music I was seeing! My question is why? Was the audio recording botched? It looks like they did a wonderful show, but I was disappointed not being able to hear what I was actually seeing. Not only is it the guitar, but the violins, drums, everything! This show would get five stars from me if the audio was live. I'm sure the actual live performance is phenomenal. I wouldn't go so far as to call Benise a fake (he appears to really know the guitar), just something happened in production. I'm more disappointed with the producer/editor than anyone else. Let me hear the live performance, please!
