Benjamin Britten, still undervalued as an opera composer, is probably one of England's finest all time musicians. This well written, well documented, bio is right on point. Good writing telling of his life and times, along with his growth and maturity as a musician. Each opera is discussed fully. The book belongs in every opera lover's library.
