Allow me to clear the air on this Rifle... After all the mixed reviews on this gun I was initially scared away from it,but I was attracted to the power and looks that it had. I myself am an extremely seasoned marksman, and although only 22 years old I have more experience with rifles and guns than most people 3 times my age ( my dad was captain of the SWAT team for my entire life)...

Anyway I decided to buy this rifle from my local gun store here in Newport (knowing that if it was as bad as everyone said i could return it after the weekend) despite the negative and even sometimes Hateful reviews it had been given. I've had it for 2 weeks, put more than a thousand pellets through it, and here is my unbiased opinion thus far.

My first impression of this gun was Great... It looked really nice, it was (or at least felt) extremely solid, and came with a well proportioned scope in my opinion. Some people complained that the wood wasn't well finished or looked like it had been done by a kid... Now maybe mine was just done perfectly idk, but i was amazed and should i say surprised by the craftsman ship. Maybe i was expecting less from the reviews, but i was, Like I said "Impressed". I really dont buy a rifle for the finish anyway because I know i'm going to abuse it outdoors in the mud and rain etc...

Ok so on to performance. The first day i wanted to put as much lead through the barrel as possible to break it in... I only had about an hour of daylight left after i got home, So i quickly mounted the scope, and went to my backyard where i regularly shoot other air rifles as well. In just under an hour i put 350 rounds through it... you do the math. I can see how people would give this gun a bad review up to this point. I sight all my Air rifles in at 50 yards.

Verified Purchase
The first thing I noticed when I opened the box up was how large the rifle was. This is my third pellet rifle that shoots 1000+fps and it is by far the heaviest and largest. With that being said it is not too cumbersome to shoot or break down, BUT if you a not a big person it may be taxing to shoot the gun over and over. On to power...lots of it. Ive killed squirrels and crows at over 25 yards with a single shot, unbelievable power out of a pellet rifle. On to accuracy...very good, but not the best Ive shot. It will however make very tight groupings at 20-25 yards, just not the most accurate pellet rifle Ive shot. On to noise...yes the box has all sorts of noise claims. They are all true, you can hear the pellet impact a pest. It is very smooth and quiet due to nitrogen chamber and the oversized barrel. BUT WAIT, it is not perfect. (1) The craftmanship is not on par. Its not terrible either, just not RWS quality. Why, why, why did crosman let this quality control issue go? Iam not sure. Probably due to cheaper labor in china, yes thats where it is made. No longer made in the USA. The stock has some visible flaws if youre OCD, and the overall quality is not a "10". (2) the trigger sucks. thats basically it, its terrible if you are a good shooter. I replaced mine with an aftermarket one and it made a big difference. Crosman fix those things and update the gun, Ill buy another one and give you a big fat perfect 5! For the price I would buy it again. Get one, go shoot and enjoy the outside.

Okay...........My take on this air rifle.

Lotta things had me spooked on this before purchase and I didn't buy it here, S.G. will match any price and return policy is amazing!
I wanted that comfort level! Googled the thing clicked shopping button/searched and made S.G. match best pricing and then used a free shipping option from typing S.G. coupons..........free shipping was applied.

Nuts and bolts!
Lotta reviews checked upfront before purchase as that's what I do......some good/some bad.
Five shots out the gate to confirm action works before tricking it out, and the thing sounded like a rimfire.........no good but expected!
Many sites taught me what to do with this thing before I considered even putting the scope on it.

What I did to really have something special.
Clean the bore with a bristle brush/Hoppes and swab the bore until absolutely claen patches come out.
Doesn't stop the loud dieseling bang but sure helps on break in and accuracy time.
Dis-assembled entire action and removed chinese tar like oils complete..........you can find this procedure online.
Deburred/removed all machining/stamping burr's from assembly, Used scotchbrite brand cloth to polish piston chamber to crosshatch piston chamber hold new molly grease.
Picked up a new piston seal and molly grease from maccari and reassembled.
Still went bang like a rimfire......... wiped grease from piston chamber and tried again.....no bang but worried not enough molly for seal.
Put molly on a patch thinly and re swabbed piston chamber.... two shot loud.........the rest quiet.

Trigger still sucked being long and heavy and not knowing when it would break?
