Perhaps it would be more appropriate to refer to a “KLOOOG” as a temporary involuntary muscular contraction of the inner chest cavity: natures way of stopping all thoughts to receive a punishment for a past wrong action that present realities have revealed should not have occurred.

This vehicle takes the shape drawn from an old European slang-word: “KLOOOG“.

It is from these “KLOOOGS” that the reader becomes prepared to walk in the footsteps of the author's thought, from which the reader is enabled to then dismiss personal mental afflictions as reactions to his negative emotion.

A “KLOOOG” is often a nearly unbearable pain brought about at the most uninvited times in ones life, perhaps by the revelation of some faded fantasy - still fighting the present reality. The heart and soul crying for the return of the fantasy; the mind needing to accept that it is over.

A “KLOOOG” is experienced when a person permits a thought to enter into his mind when he is least prepared. If the thought is precisely right, the chest may suddenly pain, and for short periods the heart seems to want to stop beating. This is a “KLOOOG”.

Each “KLOOOG” story the reader identifies with may in reality be the very same “KLOOOG” that has been previously responsible for some ongoing despair.

It is through the reading of this book and particularly through these “KLOOOG” stories that you may find a means to a welcome release......It would give me great Joy to know that you have...!

...because very few libraries are going to add this to their collection.
The poems in this book are one of the most amusing aspects. English teachers: if you're looking for a "what-not-to-do" example while teaching poetry, this is the book for you. In fact, this holds true for the prose writing in "Klooogs", as well. Very odd book. Could definitely benefit from a good editing or seven.

I suppose there are two methods for approaching this book. On one level, you could approach it as a serious self-help book, in which case you would immediately be lost in the author's complete lack of grammar and incoherent and somewhat psychotic ramblings.

On the other hand, you could approach it as something of an amusement, in which case it ceases to be amusing when you start to realize that the author could probably benefit from some serious psychological help.

This, coupled with the fact that (in my copy at least) several sections of the book are missing entirely, add up to a very strange book indeed.

I can't recommend this to anyone, especially at the suggested retail price. This book will not help anyone, as the author starts each of his stories and then goes off into disconnected ramblings which ultimately lead nowhere.

A curious amusement, but little else.

On the other hand, if you're into disturbing stream-of-consciousness and self-deprecation, perhaps this would be right up your alley.

Klooogs!!! is an insightful book. Understanding problems through the concept of the Klooog has changed my life. I highly recommend this book; Don't have a Klooog, read the book!
